World financial collapse looms as credit crisis deepens

The whole system has been engineered to crash like this. The money doesn't evaporate it flows from the many to the few. That's why it works like this!! Markets have faltered in Friday trading a day after markets in the US and Europe suffered heavy losses amid fears of a global credit crunch.

By the close of trade in Japan, the Nikkei share index was down 406.5 points, or 2.4%, at 16,764.1.

Japan's central bank followed the European Central Bank in pumping money into the market to boost liquidity.

In London the benchmark FTSE 100 opened nearly 2% lower, the French Cac opened down 1.83%, and German Dax down 1.9%.

It comes a day after the FTSE closed down nearly 2%, and following an overnight decline of close to 3% on the Dow Jones index in New York.

The Bank of Japan injected one trillion yen ($8.5bn; £4.2bn) into the financial system on Friday.

Global markets have been rattled by worries over financial institutions' exposure to bad credit in the US sub-prime mortgage market.

In Hong Kong the Hang Seng index ended the day down 2.88% at 21,799.96, after trade was suspended early because of a tropical cyclone warning.

South Korea's central bank said it would also intervene if necessary in financial markets to counter the international turmoil.

Central banks in several countries have been intervening in the money markets to prevent a continuing problem with US housing loans turning into a global financial crisis.

We study history because the secret forces that determined the past are still in charge. The past illuminates the present and the future.

In his book "Conjuring Hitler: How Britain and America Made the Third Reich", (2005) economic historian Guido Preparata demonstrates how the two World Wars essentially were traps designed by London-based central bankers to destroy Germany as a national entity.

In 1914, "the web was spun and Germany entered it like a great buzzing fly." (24)

Later, the Bank of England created the conditions for Nazism and "devoted herself to supporting financially the Nazis and subsequently arming them to the teeth with the prospect of manipulating them." (xvi)

"This game of Anglo American supremacy came at the cost of approximately 70 million lives (two world wars); a holocaust whose nature is beyond words. Both conflicts were willed and set off by Britain.... there is something far worse than Nazism, and that is the hubris of the Anglo-American fraternities, whose routine is to incite indigenous monsters to war, and steer the pandemonium to further their imperial aims." By "fraternities" Preparata, should be referring to lodges. The Masonic "New World Order" is "British" imperialism repackaged. A small degenerate financial elite based in the City of London has always desired to colonize the world. As we have seen , these Illuminati bankers plan a third world war between political Zionism (i.e. Israel and the US) and Islam (i.e. Iran) designed to destroy both sides.

Germany never represented a threat, nor does Iran. The purpose of these wars is to destroy the nation state, slaughter the best of humanity, demoralize, dehumanize, and profit. The ultimate goal is a veiled world dictatorship by the central bankers.

The Bilderberg Group

Have you ever wondered if there really is a 'global elite'? Some secret group
of people who control world events and hide their agenda from public
knowledge?

Could there be a group of people; politicians, heads of multinational
companies, directors of world banking organisations and even royalty, who
decide what policies will determine the way ordinary people live - and die?

As David Icke says, it is relatively easy for a small group of people to
control the masses when everyday we give our power and freedom away, fearing
to step out from the comfort of our 'hassle free zone'. Who perpetrate the
'Problem, Reaction, Solution' events which shape and manipulate our perceived
'democracy and freedom'?

If you control governments and the media you control the world, or do you?
What if a problem so terrible, so grotesque, so 'unbelievable' begins to
occur with startling regularity? Do you demand answers? Do you demand what
'the government' is going to do about it? Do you pass the problem to someone
else do deal with? What happens if that person you hand the solution to, is
the person who created the problem in the first place? So forms the basis for
the problem, reaction, solution method of controlling the people with the
minimum of effort.

Imagine a scenario where a lone-gunman walks into a crowded shopping centre
and guns down a number of innocent people. Terrible enough, but what if at a
later time, some innocent school children in a quiet, peaceful school are the
targets? The more outrageous and disgusting an event, the more people will
demand something must be done; "Guns must be banned",
"Something must be done now!".

Believe it or not, David Icke predicted just such a scenario in his 1994 book
"The Robots' Rebellion", before we witnessed the terrible events at
Dunblane.

Supposing someone, somewhere wanted the end 'solution' to be "to ban
guns". Obviously, gun clubs, enthusiasts and legitimate people are going
to complain, perhaps with the backing or at least, indifference, of the
general public. After all "it doesn't affect us does it". You need
to somehow manipulate the public to demand that you offer the solution. You
need a public 'reaction', for which you need to stage a perceived 'problem'.
The more horrific and unbelievable you can make it, the more the public will
demand what you wanted to do in the first place.

Rising Crime? or Big Brother?
What if you want to install video cameras and monitoring equipment into towns
and villages. Of course, this costs huge amounts of money, which could be
spent on hospitals, research into illnesses or saving the environment, so you
need the public to demand you do it, or at the minimum, not offer resistance
when you propose it. You need the 'problem' of rising crime, which needs to
be perpetuated throughout the media and on TV. People will then fear being
mugged in the streets and approve the 'safety' offered by cameras and
surveillance equipment - even though the need was not high enough in the
first place.

Does such a group of people exist? There is ample evidence to say that there
does, and what's more, once you become aware of the facts, you can see their
influence in world events - even though seemingly forged by 'opposing
factions'.

Democracy or Denial?
Why are the public losing interest in government and their right to vote? Is
it because people think "it doesn't matter who you vote for, they both
end up doing the same old things". How precise this turns out to be,
once you dig deep enough.

No wonder The Sun newspaper decided to back Tony Blair of New Labour (what a
joke) in the May 1997 UK general election. The chief executive of News
International (the parent of The Sun) is Mr Andrew Knight, a member of the
Bilderberg Group.

Mr Tony Blair was a guest of the annual Bilderberg meeting in 1993, together with his colleague Kenneth Clarke. Hang on a minute though..... Aren't those
two on opposite sides? What about Bilderberg attendees Margaret Thatcher and
Denis Healey - and you thought we lived in a democracy where your vote
actually counted.

Incidentally, this could account for why Margaret Thatcher was one of Tony
Blair's first guests at Number Ten, something the independent media were
quick to pick up on after New Labour won power.

The same goes for US presidents. Every one since Jimmy Carter has been a
Bilderberg representative. Democrat, Republican - it doesn't matter. They all
have the same policies, decided upon at top secret meetings held annually in
hidden locations.

What exactly are 'The Bilderbergers' then? What are their aims? This article,
mainly extracts from "The Bilderberg Group... the Trilateral
Commission... covert power groups of the West", by Robert Eringer,
(Pentacle Books, 1980) tries to expose some of their secret agenda.

As the concepts and plans behind the global elite could pose such a threat to
our freedom, I will periodically return to this subject in order to keep
Enigma readers aware of the world around them. If anything in this article,

The Global Manipulators: In Search of Answers It is indeed intriguing when a prestigious collection of internationally powerful men lock themselves away for a weekend in some remote town far away from the Press to talk about world problems. Since the late 1950s, the Bilderberg Group has been the subject of a variety of conspiracy theories. For the most part, conspiracy theories emanate from political extremist organisations, Right and Left. The 'Radical Right' view Bilderberg as an integral part of the 'international Zionist-communist conspiracy'. At the other end of the political spectrum, the radical Left perceive Bilderberg to be a branch of the 'Rockefeller-Rothschild grand design to rule the world'. For many it is less frightening to believe in hostile conspirators than it is to face the fact that no one is in control. And after all, isn't conspiracy the normal continuation of normal politics by normal means? Conspiracy or not, the Bilderberg Group is a fascinating example of behind-the-scenes 'invisible' influence-peddling in action. Bilderbergers represent the elite and wealthy establishment of every Western nation. They include bankers, industrialists, politicians and leaders of giant multinational corporations. Their annual meetings, which take place at a different location each year, go unannounced, their debates unreported, their decisions unknown. The group certainly fits C.Wright Mills's definition of a Power Elite: 'A group of men, similar in interest and outlook, shaping events from invulnerable positions behind the scenes.' The New World Order I began my investigation of Bilderberg while in Washington, D.C. in the autumn of 1975. I had read bits and pieces on Bilderberg in right-wing literature and so I went directly to its source, the Liberty Lobby, an ultra-conservative political pressure group located a stone's throw from Capitol Hill. There I interviewed one E.Stanley Rittenhouse, Liberty Lobby's legislative aide. Rittenhouse solemnly explained the existence of a Jewish-communist conspiracy to rule the world by way of a 'New World Order', whose eventual goal is one world government. To prove this point Rittenhouse incessantly recited passages from his handy pocket Bible and explained the evolution of this great conspiracy. The Illuminati It all goes back to the Illuminati, a secret society/fraternity formed in Bavaria in 1776 by Adam Weishaupt, based on the philosophical ideals of Plato. John Ruskin, 'a secret disciple of the Illuminati' and a professor of art and philosophy at Oxford University in the 1870s, revived these ideals in his teachings. A Privileged Ruling Class The late Dr. Carroll Quigley, a distinguished professor at Georgetown University for many years, wrote in "Tragedy and Hope" that 'Ruskin spoke to the Oxford undergraduates as members of the privileged ruling class ... that they were possessors of a magnificent tradition of education, beauty, rule of law, freedom, decency, and self-discipline but that this tradition could not be saved, and indeed did not deserve to be saved, unless it could be extended to the lower classes in England and to the non-English masses throughout the world'. Diamond Mining Cecil Rhodes, a student and devoted fan of Ruskin, 'Feverishly exploited the diamond and gold fields of South Africa. With financial support from Lord Rothschild he was able to monopolise the diamond mines of South Africa as De Beers Consolidated Mines. 'In the middle of the 1890s Rhodes had a personal income of a least a million pounds a year which he spent so freely for his mysterious purposes that he was usually overdrawn on his account. These purposes centred on his desire to federate the English-speaking peoples and to bring all habitable portions of the world under their control.' The founding of The Round Table To this end, Rhodes, along with other disciples of Ruskin, formed a secret society in association with a group of Cambridge men who shared the same ideals. This society, which was later to become the original Round Table Group (better known in the 1920s as the 'Cliveden Set') was formed on February 5th 1881. According to Dr. Quigley, "This group was able to get access to Rhodes's money after his death in 1902. Under the trusteeship of Alfred (later Lord) Milner, They sought to extend and execute the ideals that Rhodes had obtained from Ruskin." "As governor-general of South Africa in the period 1897-1905, Milner recruited a group of young men, chiefly from Oxford and from Toynbee Hall, to assist him in organising his administration. Through this influence these men were able to win influential posts in government and international finance and became the dominant influence in British imperial and foreign affairs up to 1939. Under Milner in South Africa, they were known as Milner's Kindergarten until 1910. In 1909-1903 they organised semi-secret groups, known as Round Table Groups, in the chief British dependencies and in the United States." The CFR and RIIA It was at the Majestic Hotel in Paris in 1919 that the Round Table Groups of the United States and Britain emerged out from under a cloak of secrecy and officially became the (American) Council on Foreign Relations and the (British) Royal Institute for International Affairs. To Mr Rittenhouse and his breed of religious isolationists at Liberty Lobby, Bilderberg evolved directly from the 'satanic-communist' Illuminati, and the Council on Foreign Relations - Royal Institute of International Affairs relationship. I phoned Dr. Quigley at his office in Georgetown University's elite School of Foreign Service. A man of impeccable credentials, Quigley used "Tragedy and Hope" as a text for his courses on Western Civilisation. Published in 1966, "Tragedy and Hope" has become a rare book to locate. Quigley apparently had trouble with his publisher over the book's distribution. The publisher claimed demand was poor. When Quigley sought and acquired the necessary demand, the publisher responded by saying that the plates had been destroyed. In his book, 1310 pages in all, Quigley detailed how the intricate financial and commercial patterns of the West prior to 1914 influenced the development of today's world. It has been suggested that these revelations, especially in coming from a respected historian, did not amuse the higher echelons of big banking; hence a form of censorship resulted. It is for this reason that "Tragedy and Hope", much to Quigley's annoyance, has become the Bible of conspiracy theorists and may be found for sale only through mail order book clubs which specialise in conspiracy literature. Quigley, in his best Boston accent, dismissed the Radical-Right inter-pretation as 'garbage'. But he was quick to add, "To be perfectly blunt, you could find yourself in trouble dealing with this subject." He explained that his career as a lecturer in the government institution circuit was all but ruined because of the twenty or so pages he had written about the existence of Round Table Groups. I recently studied the late Dr. Quigley's private files on the Round Table Groups at the Georgetown University library. There I discovered great substance to his findings in the form of personal correspondence and notes of interviews and conversations. Exhausted with right-wing cries of communist conspiracy, I wrote to the embassies in Washington of each one of the countries whose citizens are involved with Bilderberg. I received only three replies. A letter from the Royal Swedish Embassy states: 'Prominent Swedish businessmen in their private capacities are and have been members of the group. Swedish politicians have also - mostly as invited guests as I understand it - participated in meetings with the group. I may add that I am not aware of any official Swedish view on the Bilderberg Group.' The Canadian Embassy wrote: 'To our knowledge, the Canadian Government has no position with regard to this group.' Official Denials I telephoned all of the embassies. Out of twenty, the only one which had any information of Bilderberg was that of the Netherlands. The official I spoke with knew very little about the group but he speculated that its purpose was to make this 'a more liveable world'. A diplomat at the Embassy of West Germany exclaimed, 'Bilder What?', and he refuse to believe the existence of such a group. This was a familiar response, even from many university professors of politics whom I questioned. Mark Felt, the former Assistant Director of the FBI, had never heard of Bilderberg. Neither had Michael Moffitt of the Institute for Policy Studies and co-author of Global Reach. After spotting his Name on a poster advertising a seminar on the power elite, I phoned Dr. Peter David Beter, a former Counsel to the Import-Export Bank. Beter contends that Bilderberg Conferences are nothing more than social occasions where prostitutes and large amounts of alcohol are enjoyed. But these days, Dr. Beter's full-time profession consists of peddling a monthly 'Audio Letter' to a very gullible public. Beter was last heard by this author proclaiming that the Russians have secretly implanted nuclear missiles in the Mississippi River. White House Enquiries I wrote to President Gerald Ford at the White House to enquire about Bilderberg when I heard of his one-time involvement. His 'Director of Correspondence' replied and stated: 'The Conference does not intend that its program be secret, although in the interest of a free and open discussion, no records are kept of the meetings.' (I later learned that records are indeed kept of the meetings, although they are marked 'Strictly Confidential'.) I wrote to David Rockefeller, Chairman of the Chase Manhattan Bank, to enquire about Bilderberg. An assistant wrote back and he suggested I write to 'Mr. Charles Muller, a Vice President at Muden and Company, the organisation which assists with the administration of American Friend of Bilderberg, Incorporated' I wrote to Mr. Muller and was sent the following printed message: "In the early 1950s a number of people in both sides of the Atlantic sought a means of bringing together leading citizens both in and out of government, for informal discussions of problems facing the Western world. Such meetings, they felt, would create a better understanding of the forces and trends affecting Western nations." The first meeting that brought Americans and Europeans together took place under the chairmanship of H.R.H. Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands at the Bilderberg Hotel in Oosterbeck, Holland, from 29th May to 31st May, 1954. Ever since, the meetings have been called Bilderberg Meetings.

Each year since its inception, Prince Bernhard has been the Bilderberg chairman. There are no members' of Bilderberg. Each year an invitation list is compiled by Prince Bernhard in consultation with an informal international steering committee; individuals are chosen in the light of their knowledge and standing. To ensure full discussion an attempt is made to include participants representing many political and economic points of view. Of the 80 to 100 participant, approximately one-third are from government and politics, the other are from many fields - finance, industry, labour, education and journalism. They attend in a personal and not in an official capacity. from the beginning participants have come from North America and Western Europe, and from various international organisations. The official languages are English and French. 'The meetings take place in a different county each year. Since 1957, they have been held in many Western European countries and in North America as well. The discussion at each meeting is centred upon topics of current concern in the broad fields of foreign policy, world economy, and other contemporary issues. Basic groundwork for the symposium is laid by means of working papers and general discussion follows. In order to assure freedom of speech and opinion, the gatherings are closed and off the record. No resolutions are proposed, no votes taken, and no policy statements issued during or after the meetings. In short, Bilderberg is a high-ranking and flexibly international forum in which opposing viewpoints can be brought closer together and mutual understanding furthered.' I wrote to Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and received a reply from the Bureau of European Affairs at the State Department: 'In the early 1950s a number of people on both sides of the Atlantic sought a means of bringing together leading citizens ' And so on. Official Business or Not? I went to see Charles Muller at his Murden and Company office in New York City. He appeared to know little about Bilderberg and merely repeated information available on the printed message. It is claimed that "Government officials attend in a personal and not an official capacity". Mr. Muller was surprised to learn from me that the State Department acknowledged in a letter to Liberty Lobby that department officials Helmut Sonnenfeldt and Winston Lord attended a Bilderberg Conference at government expense in their official capacities. (as did Kenneth Clarke and Tony Blair in 1993) I tried to obtain interviews with both Sonnenfeldt and Lord. Their secretaries channelled me through to many different offices. Finally, Francis Seidner, a public affairs advisor, advised me to mind my own business. Back in London and armed with a list of Bilderberg participants (available on request - Ed.), I sought out and conducted an interview with Lord Roll, chairman of the S.G. Warburg Bank. Roll gave little away and he stated outright that records of Bilderberg Conferences do not exist. (Little did he realise that I had one in my briefcase?) I wrote to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and they replied: 'Thank you for your letter enquiring about the Bilderberg Group. Unfortunately, we can find no trace of the Bilderberg Group in any of our reference works on international organisations.' (Much later, I learned that the Foreign Office has on occasion paid the way for British members to attend Bilderberg Conferences.) A letter to one-time member Sir Paul Chambers brought this response: 'I am under obligation not to disclose anything about the Bilderberg Group to anybody who is not a member of that Group, I am very sorry that I cannot help, but I am clearly powerless to do so and it would be wrong in the circumstances to say anything to you about Bilderberg.' Sir Paul suggested I write to the Bilderberg secretariat at an address in the Hague. I did so and was again sent a copy of the standard printed message. I had eagerly looked forward to the next Bilderberg Conference, which in 1976 was to be held in Hot Springs, Virginia. For the first time since 1954, the meeting was cancelled. The international steering committee felt it inappropriate to conduct a conference that year because permanent chairman Prince Bernhard was under such heavy public scrutiny after having been publicly disgraced for taking a bribe from the Lockheed Aircraft Company. UK Meeting in 1977 So my first Bilderberg Conference took place a year later, in April 1977, at the serene Devon resort of Torquay. It is the Bilderberg custom to book a whole hotel for the weekend conference. The five-star Imperial Hotel was no exception and it, too, was emptied to accommodate over 100 Bilderberg participants. Even the Imperials permanent guests were told to find lodging elsewhere for the weekend. I managed a booking at the Imperial for three nights before the Bilderbergers moved in. On Thursday, two days before the conference was due to begin, heavy lorries and workmen unloaded large wooden file cabinets and sealed crates. I was not allowed access to the conference hall, despite assurances from a Bilderberg secretary that 'We have nothing to hide'. At 2 am Friday morning with the night club finally closed and the Imperial asleep, I tiptoed down five flights of stairs from my room to the conference hall. To my surprise, the doors were unlocked and unguarded. I slipped into the darkened hall and inspected the locked file cabinets, glass translation booth and electronic equipment for tape-recording and translation. Having already consumed a half-dozen whiskies, I could not repulse an urge to purloin a mahogany and brass-plated Bilderberg gavel. It now sits atop my desk, a trophy of my research. Like all others, I was thrown out of the hotel on the Friday to make way for American Secret Servicemen and Special Branch bodyguards. The Bilderbergers arrived later, mostly by way of a quiet entry through Exeter Airport 10 miles form Torquay. They held their hush-hush meetings and then, just as quietly, disappeared back to their respective banks, multinational corporations and government jobs, perhaps a little more the wiser than when they arrived.

As you can see from the article above, people 'in the know' seem intent on
keeping the purpose and attendees to each Bilderberg meeting top secret.

The meetings still continue annually with the 1998 meeting having occurred
only a few weeks ago at the remote Turnberry Hotel in Ayreshire, Scotland.
Not long afterwards, I managed to obtain a list of attendees to this, most
recent, meeting. The full list appears on the following page, for the benefit
of, and to aid the personal research of, Enigma readers.

One noticeable omission from the list, is British Prime Minister Mr Tony
Blair. Does this mean that he is on the way out? It's interesting to note
that William Hague (leader of the Opposition) and Tony Blair's own Secretary
of State for Defence, Mr George Robertson were both present, as were (as
usual) international media moguls.

The world in the palm of their hands

Ok, for those of you who take the "cockup" rather than the "conspiracy" line of history, please explain the Bilderberg meetings to me? If it's all innocent and for the good of humanity then why all the secrecy? If there are no conspiracies then why can't I go to the meetings?

May 24, 2005—The annual secret meeting of the Bilderberg group determines many of the headlines and news developments you will read about in the coming months. But the Establishment media completely black it out. With the exception of half-a-dozen high-ranking members of the press who are sworn to secrecy, few have ever heard of the exclusive and secretive group called The Bilderbergers.

Mainstream news organizations boastful about their no-holds barred investigative exploits, have been strangely reluctant to lift the blackout curtain hiding a major event: the Bilderberg group's secret annual meeting for the world's most powerful financiers, industrialists, and political figures.

Two thousand-five was a bad year for Bilderberg and its future looks gloomy. Herculean efforts to keep their meetings secret in Rottach-Egern failed miserably. Bilderberg's grief is the free world´s glory—and hope for further restraining the power grabbers in the dawn of a new millennium.

One certainty is that although the Bilderberg Group has lost some of its past luster, it is meeting under its usual secrecy that makes freemasonry look like a playgroup. Staff at the hotel are photographed and put through special clearance. From porters to senior managers, the employees are warned (under the threat of never working in the country again) about the consequences of revealing any details of the guests to the press.

International and national media are said to be welcome only when an oath of silence has been taken, news editors are held responsible if any of their journalists 'inadvertently' report on what takes place.

While Clinton, Blair, Chirac, Berlusconi and Company attended the G8 summits of the world's foremost democratically elected leaders, they were accompanied by the massed ranks of the world media. In stark contrast, the comings and goings at Bilderberg take place under cover of a virtual publicity blackout.

The discussions they will engage in this year, from deciding how the world should deal with European-American relations, the Middle East powder keg, the Iraq war, the global economy and how to stave off war in Iran, and the consensus they reach, will influence the course of Western civilization and the future of the entire planet. This meeting takes place behind closed doors in total secrecy, protected by a phalanx of armed guards.

What Was on Bilderberg´s 2005 Agenda?

After three straight years of open hostilities and tension amongst the European, British and American Bilderbergers caused by the war in Iraq, the aura of complete congeniality amongst them has returned. Bilderbergers have reaffirmed and remain united in their long-term goal to strengthen the role the UN plays in regulating global conflicts and relations.

However, it is important to understand that Americans are no more the "Hawks" than the European Bilderbergers the "Doves." Europeans joined in supporting the 1991 invasion of Iraq by President George W. Bush's father, celebrating, in the words of one notable Bilderberg hunter the end of "America's Vietnam syndrome." Europeans also supported former President Bill Clinton's invasion of Yugoslavia, bringing NATO into the operation.

A much-discussed subject in 2005 at Rottach-Egern was the concept of imposing a direct UN tax on people worldwide through a direct tax on oil at the wellhead. This, in fact, sets a precedent. If enacted, it will be the first time, when a non-governmental agency, read the United Nations, directly benefits from a tax on citizens of free and enslaved nations.

Bilderberger proposal calls for a tiny UN levy at the outset, which the consumer would hardly notice. Jim Tucker of the court-killed Spotlight magazine years ago wrote "establishing the principle that the UN can directly tax citizens of the world is important to Bilderberg. It is another giant step toward world government. Bilderbergers know that publicly promoting a UN tax on all people on Earth would meet with outrage. But they are patient; it first proposed a direct world tax years ago and celebrates the fact that it is now in the public dialogue with little public attention or concern."

Bilderberg wants "tax harmonization" so high-tax countries could compete with more tax-friendly nations—including the United States—for foreign investment. They would "harmonize" taxes by forcing the rate in the United States and other countries to rise so that socialist Sweden's 58-percent level would be "competitive."

Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)

Then there is the rise of the NGOs, a development former President Clinton suddenly (one day after it was discussed at Rottach-Egern) calls one of "the most remarkable things that have happened since the fall of the Berlin Wall." Ironically, Clinton's statement was picked up by The Wall Street Journal, a paper always represented at the Bilderberg meetings by Robert L. Bartley, its vice president and Paul Gigot, editorial page editor.

The Bilderbergers have been vigorously debating giving, for the first time, nonelected, self-appointed, environmental activists a position of governmental authority on the governing board of the agency which controls the use of atmosphere, outer space, the oceans, and, for all practical purposes, biodiversity. This invitation for "civil society" to participate in global governance is described as expanding democracy.

According to sources within Bilderberg, the status of NGOs would be elevated even further in the future. The NGO activity would include agitation at the local level, lobbying at the national level, producing studies to justify global taxation through UN organizations such as Global Plan, one of Bilderberg´s pet projects for over a decade. The strategy to advance the global governance agenda specifically includes programs to discredit individuals and organizations that generate "internal political pressure" or "populist action" that fails to support the new global ethic. The ultimate objective, according to the source, being to suppress democracy.

The United Nations Environment Programme, along with all the environmental treaties under its jurisdiction, would ultimately be governed by a special body of environmental activists, chosen only from accredited NGOs appointed by delegates to the General Assembly who are themselves appointed by the president of the United States, who is controlled by the Rockefeller-CFR-Bilderberg interlocking leadership

This new mechanism would provide a direct route from the local, "on-the-ground" NGO affiliates of national and international NGOs to the highest levels of global governance. For example: The Greater Yellowstone Coalition, a group of affiliated NGOs, recently petitioned the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO asking for intervention in the plans of a private company to mine gold on private land near Yellowstone Park. The UNESCO Committee did intervene, and immediately listed Yellowstone as a "World Heritage Site in Danger." Under the terms of the World Heritage Convention, the United States is required to protect the park, even beyond the borders of the park, and onto private lands if necessary.

The ideas being discussed, if implemented, will bring all the people of the world into a global neighbourhood managed by a worldwide bureaucracy, under the direct authority of a minute handful of appointed individuals, and policed by thousands of individuals, paid by accredited NGOs, certified to support a belief system, which to many people is unbelievable and unacceptable.

Elections in Britain

Bilderbergers are celebrating the result it wanted. The return of a much humbled Tony Blair to 10 Downing Street with a much-reduced parliamentary majority. European Bilderbergers are still angry at him for supporting America´s war in Iraq. While teaching Blair a useful lesson in international politics, Bilderbergers feel he is a far safer candidate to continue on the path of European integration than his conservative rival Michael Howard.

MEETING TO BE HELD IN POSH GERMAN RESORT HOTEL

European Bilderberg hunters have found the hiding place of this secretive cabal at a posh resort in this charming little city 40 miles from Munich. Their annual meeting is May 5-8.

Bilderberg is gathering at the Dorint Sofitel Seehotel Ueberfahrt, a five-star conference and business hotel with 188 luxury rooms. It is on a lake and near a golf course—typical Bilderberg requirements. High officials of the U.S. government and possibly a few congressional leaders will participate in three days of secret meetings to plan global policy. Heads of state and other high officials from Europe and Britain will participate, along with world financiers.

David Rockefeller and his valet, Henry Kissinger, are longtime Bilderberg regulars. Donald Graham, publisher of The Washington Post, and associate editor Jimmy Lee Hoagland regularly attend, upon their promise to report
nothing.

The New York Times, LA Times and all major networks—ABC, CBS and NBC—have participated. All participants are sworn to secrecy. Bilderberg denies its existence, and all the resorts at which they hold their meetings require their employees to lie and deny they are present.

Three times the Dorint told AFP they were fully booked—but that Bilderberg was not there. All but Bilderberg participants and their staffs, wives or, in some cases, someone else’s wife, will be required to leave. The hotel staff will be warned to reveal nothing of what they see and hear.

Armed guards will patrol not only the main entrance but the perimeters.

Exposing Bilderberg meetings has provided advance warning—months ahead of the mainstream media—of U.S. wars, tax increases, and the downfall of Margaret Thatcher as prime minister of Britain, among other exclusives.

Bilderberg 'performance' key to Edwards VP pick

Sen. John Edwards' standout "performance" at the super-secret Bilderberg meeting in Italy last month may have been a key reason for his selection as John Kerry's vice presidential running mate, according to the New York Times.

The 50th anniversary conference of the elite group – which many believe conspires semi-annually to foster global government – met June 3 through June 6 in Stresa, Italy, at the Grand Hotel des Iles Borromees.

Among the attendees from the U.S., according to a list obtained by WND, were Senators John Edwards, D-N.C. and Jon Corzine, D-N.J., Henry Kissinger, Richard Perle, Melinda Gates (wife of Bill Gates), David Rockefeller, Timothy F. Geithner, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Donald Graham, chairman and CEO of the Washington Post Company, and even Ralph Reed, former head of the Christian Coalition.

According to a report in yesterday's New York Times by Jody Wilgoren, analyzing why Kerry chose Edwards over the other 24 serious contenders for the No. 2 spot:

Several people pointed to the secretive and exclusive Bilderberg conference of some 120 people that this year drew the likes of Henry A. Kissinger, Melinda Gates and Richard A. Perle to Stresa, Italy, in early June, as helping win Mr. Kerry's heart. Mr. Edwards spoke so well in a debate on American politics with the Republican Ralph Reed that participants broke Bilderberg rules to clap before the end of the session. Beforehand, Mr. Edwards traveled to Brussels to meet with NATO officials, brandishing his foreign-policy credentials.

"His performance at Bilderberg was important," said a friend of Mr. Kerry who was there. "He reported back directly to Kerry. There were other reports on his performance. Whether they reported directly or indirectly, I have no doubt the word got back to Mr. Kerry about how well he did."

Since 1953, the Bilderberg group has convened government, business, academic and journalistic representatives from the U.S., Canada and Europe with the express purpose of exploring the future of the North Atlantic community.

According to sources that have penetrated the high-security meetings in the past, the Bilderberg meetings emphasize a globalist agenda and promote the idea that the notion of national sovereignty is antiquated and regressive.

Bilderberg List Exposed

As usual we find out about it after the fact. Look people, whether you think I'm full of shit or not you cannot deny that no greater evidence of a dastardly conspiracy exists than these evil and heinous Bilderberg meetings. As a UK tax payer I have serious objections to any member of the Britsh political or business establishment attending, they are anathema to democracy and the principles upon which our government is based! Now I know that my objections don't mean jack-shit at the end of the day, I've written to my MP and anyone else I could think of, all to no avail. The 52nd secretive Bilderberg Meeting being held in Stresa, Italy, 3-6 June 2004, received a blow as the Bilderberg.Org website published a leaked list of participants for the first time ahead of the conference.

The Conference will deal mainly with European American relations and in this context US Politics, Iraq, The Middle East., European Geopolitics, NATO, China, Economoic Problems and Energy, according to official information on the Bilderberg society.

"This is the first year that I have been able to publish the official agenda and list of participants before the end of the conference - so read, analyse and enjoy. Please send me any information on the participants - such as past or present jobs - that the Bilderberg Secretariat have overlooked asap and I will publish them", Mr Gosling says.

His website which has been run for several years to highlight the Bilderberg group and its agenda as well as to facilitate protestors to know the venues for the meetings which are held under strict security and was not publicly known until early last month.

Henry Kissinger, Richard Perle, David Rockefeller and others are listed in the 126 participants exposed on the website which also expects George W. Bush to make an appearance.

911 - What Remains Must Be The Truth

I'll get accused of anti-semitism and racism and everything else under then sun for this one, but who cares that's what freedom of speech is all about. The mess we are seeing today started on 911 and the search for truth must start there. The official explanation is patent nonsense, if it weren't there would already have been a public enquiry and not loads of stonewalling. We are being lied to and manipulated.

Not long after September 11, 2001, a story surfaced on the Internet accusing the Israelis of taking part in a conspiracy that resulted in the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks. The origin of the story was attributed to Jordan's Al Watan newspaper; and it was reported that Pakistani publications followed by Islamic clerics in the Middle East and Central Asia spread the story.

Another tragedy was born and reared out of those reports. A number of anti-Semitic bigots hopped on the bandwagon of that ill-considered, wild conjecture and misused it to feed their rant against Jews.

As might be expected, a number of people stormed onto the Internet to debunk the Israel conspiracy theories. That effectively put an end to questioning the official story of a plot generated by Osama bin Laden and executed by his Al-Qaeda operatives. No one dared ask the most important question: Who stood to benefit from the catastrophe that killed thousands on September 11, 2001?

Al-Qaeda? What benefit? Even terrorists need a cause. "They hate America" isn't a cause. They're jealous of America's freedoms" isn't a cause.

Saudi Arabia? Michael Moore suggests this in Dude, Where's My Country. But why? If there were an affair between Bush and the Saudi royal family, how would 9/11 ever benefit the Saudis? No conceivable benefit accrues to either the Saudi royal family or the Saudi military.

America's oil interests? This seems to be a favorite among guessing pundits. However, if the Bush cabal and the Saudis are in cahoots, they already have Middle East oil interests sewn up. There's plenty of time to worry about Afghanistan gas pipes and Iraqi oil when supplies get dangerously low. Why burn up millions of gallons of fuel in a war to protect fuel supplies for control of Iraqi oil? For what? In order to pay for the war costs?

What about G.W. Bush and the Republican Party? While the "Patriot theme and "fighting terrorism undoubtedly aided the Republicans in the 2002 elections as well as their legislative agenda, the risk of prolonged occupations accompanied by deaths of military personnel argue against any long term benefit to Bush and his party. Combine that with continued loss of credibility over the falsehoods used to justify unilateral attacks on Iraq, and any potential benefit seen earlier goes up in smoke.

Israel? Without a sliver of doubt, Israel was/is the major benefactor of the 9/11 strike. How has Israel benefited? Israeli hawks have, since the beginnings of their occupation of Palestine, wanted to rid Palestine of the Palestinians. So long as Palestinians remained in the occupied territories, an Iraqi missile strike that would kill more Palestinians than Israelis was impossible. So long as Iraq possessed a capacity to even develop WMD,s it would be impossible for Israel to get rid of the Palestinians. Thus, getting control of Iraq facilitated Israel's ultimate desire to eliminate the Palestinians.

How does 9/11 fit into the Iraq-Israel scenario? 9/11 provided the clarion call for the so-called war against terrorism. Without 9/11, the U.S. would have had no excuse for invading Afghanistan. The battle against Al-Qaeda and bin Laden was the precursor to the invasion of Iraq; and the trumped up connection between Iraq and Al-Qaeda provided the excuse for invading Iraq.

There's no doubt that Israel's Mossad, the Middle East intelligence experts as far as America is concerned, provided the assessment of Iraq's WMD's to America. The following Associated Press report (December 8, 2003) makes clear, though perhaps unwittingly, that Israelis believed that Iraq had WMD's.

ISRAELI intelligence overplayed the threat posed by Iraq and reinforced an assumption by American and British counterparts that Saddam Hussein had large caches of weapons of mass destruction, a retired Israeli general said today, after studying the run-up to the US-led invasion of Iraq.

The Israeli assessment may have been colored by politics, including a desire to see Saddam Hussein toppled, said Shlomo Brom, once a senior Israeli military intelligence officer and now a researcher with Israel's top strategic think tank.

Brom stopped short of accusing intelligence officials of intentionally misleading Britain and the United States.

The origin of the story was attributed to Jordan's Al Watan newspaper; and it was reported that Pakistani publications followed by Islamic clerics in the Middle East and Central Asia spread the story.

Another tragedy was born and reared out of those reports. A number of anti-Semitic bigots hopped on the bandwagon of that ill-considered, wild conjecture and misused it to feed their rant against Jews.

As might be expected, a number of people stormed onto the Internet to debunk the Israel conspiracy theories. That effectively put an end to questioning the official story of a plot generated by Osama bin Laden and executed by his Al-Qaeda operatives. No one dared ask the most important question: Who stood to benefit from the catastrophe that killed thousands on September 11, 2001?

Al-Qaeda? What benefit? Even terrorists need a cause. "They hate America" isn't a cause. "They're jealous of America's freedoms" isn't a cause.

Saudi Arabia? Michael Moore suggests this in Dude, Where’s My Country. But why? If there were an affair between Bush and the Saudi royal family, how would 9/11 ever benefit the Saudis? No conceivable benefit accrues to either the Saudi royal family or the Saudi military.

America's oil interests? This seems to be a favourite among guessing pundits. However, if the Bush cabal and the Saudis are in cahoots, they already have Middle East oil interests sewn up. There's plenty of time to worry about Afghanistan gas pipes and Iraqi oil when supplies get dangerously low. Why burn up millions of gallons of fuel in a war to protect fuel supplies for control of Iraqi oil? For what? In order to pay for the war costs?

What about G.W. Bush and the Republican Party? While the “Patriot” theme and “fighting terrorism” undoubtedly aided the Republicans in the 2002 elections as well as their legislative agenda, the risk of prolonged occupations accompanied by deaths of military personnel argue against any long term benefit to Bush and his party. Combine that with continued loss of credibility over the falsehoods used to justify unilateral attacks on Iraq, and any potential benefit seen earlier goes up in smoke.

The Bilderberg group and the financial interests of a "New World Order"? That international finance has been served by 9/11 seems obvious with the US being looted to serve a trans-national elite with no allegiance to any nation. Israel? Without a sliver of doubt, Israel was/is the major benefactor of the 9/11 strike. How has Israel benefited? Mossad, Israel's intelligence agency, believed that Iraq could have weapons of mass destruction and Israel wanted Iraq neutralized before they had a chance to use them against Israel. Israeli hawks have, since the beginnings of their occupation of Palestine, wanted to rid Palestine of the Palestinians. So long as Palestinians remained in the occupied territories, an Iraqi missile strike that would kill more Palestinians than Israelis was impossible. So long as Iraq possessed a capacity to even develop WMD’s it would be impossible for Israel to get rid of the Palestinians. Thus, getting control of Iraq facilitated Israel's ultimate desire to eliminate the Palestinians.

How does 9/11 fit into the Iraq-Israel scenario? 9/11 provided the clarion call for the so-called war against terrorism. Without 9/11, the U.S. would have had no excuse for invading Afghanistan. The battle against Al-Qaeda and bin Laden was the precursor to the invasion of Iraq; and the trumped up connection between Iraq and Al-Qaeda provided the excuse for invading Iraq.

There's no doubt that Israel's Mossad, the Middle East intelligence experts as far as America is concerned, provided the assessment of Iraq's WMD's to America. The following Associated Press report (December 8, 2003) makes clear, though perhaps unwittingly, that Israelis believed that Iraq had WMD's.

ISRAELI intelligence overplayed the threat posed by Iraq and reinforced an assumption by American and British counterparts that Saddam Hussein had large caches of weapons of mass destruction, a retired Israeli general said today, after studying the run-up to the US-led invasion of Iraq.

The Israeli assessment may have been coloured by politics, including a desire to see Saddam Hussein toppled, said Shlomo Brom, once a senior Israeli military intelligence officer and now a researcher with Israel's top strategic think tank.

Brom stopped short of accusing intelligence officials of intentionally misleading Britain and the United States.

Brom said in an interview today that "Israeli intelligence was a full partner with the United States and Britain in developing a false picture of Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction capability".

He said Israeli intelligence "badly overestimated the Iraqi threat to Israel and reinforced the American and British belief that the weapons existed".

Brom said the Israeli assessment might have been influenced by politics.

Brom's last comment was a gross understatement! And while he stopped short of accusing Mossad of intentionally misleading Britain and the United States, there's little doubt that's exactly what happened.

Considering again the answer to the question “who benefited from 9/11?” it becomes perfectly clear that Israel, and Israel alone, had reason to plot and execute the disaster that hit The World Trade Center, the Pentagon and the four flights involved in that fateful September day in 2001. Israel, however, couldn't possibly have executed such a plan alone without help from some US authorities. Who might possibly provide the means for accomplishing that genocidal goal?

The FBI and the CIA along with the general category of "the Bush Administration" have been suggested in conjecture about possible accomplices in a conspiracy. "The Bush Administration" is much too broad to even be nominated for serious consideration, with the ever-present possibility that somewhere among the ranks there might be a whistle blower with a conscience.

The FBI has certainly refused to cooperate with inquirers outside the government; but that refusal to release information in ongoing investigations cannot be logically interpreted as part of a cover-up. The same can be said for the CIA. Additionally people in both agencies have revealed that they had advanced knowledge of the potential hijackings.

Apart from other considerations, the CIA, having shared intelligence with Mossad and having been burnt on a number of those occasions with false intelligence, would have no love lost for the deceivers among their Israeli counterparts. Who's left as cooperative partners in the 9/11 executions that would form the basis for the American invasions against all objections from most of the rest of the world? The process of elimination leaves only the Department of Defence (DoD). Its leaders are secretive enough to keep its plans under wraps. To violate the top-secret code of silence, even by someone who later felt moved by conscience to disclose the truth, would be cause for court martial and a death sentence for treason, if not to an assassination made to look like a suicide.

Unlike the CIA, which has "never killed Americans" in its covert activities, the DoD has been responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans, both in the military and among civilians considered as collateral damage. The DoD has no qualms about killing Americans when it serves their purpose.

For 60 years the DoD managed to cover up their prior knowledge of the planned Pearl Harbor attack by the Japanese that killed 4575 US Navy personnel. The DoD also stopped US fighter jets from scrambling to end the Israeli massacre of US Navy personnel on the USS Liberty. (http://www.ussliberty.org/)

The DoD is the only body that could have kept the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) from performing its duty to scramble fighter jets to intercept the hijacked planes on 9/11. The DoD was in the position to stop the hijacked jets from performing their mission. They didn’t (http://www.publicaction.com/911/noradsend2.html), and they’ve never answered why they didn’t.

Similarly, just as they were in a position to stop the attack on Pearl Harbor, they did not. There was no excuse for that failure other than using the attack to justify U.S. entry into WWII. That the DoD did not intercept the hijacked aircraft on 9/11 is evidence that they wanted the end result to happen and participated in the attack.

Leading civilians in the DoD figure among US leaders serving Israel. Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle and Douglas Feith have been more devoted to Israeli interests than they have to those of America. At best, they have acted as "dual loyalists."

"Wolfowitz, a 'hawkish' conservative military analyst under Ronald Reagan, had in the 1990s, during the Clinton presidency formulated a new foreign policy with regard to Iraq and other 'potential aggressor states', dismissing ‘containment’ in favour of ‘pre-emption’; strike first to eliminate threats.” Such a strike could not be made without an attack like Pearl Harbor or like 9/11. Richard Perle, previously chairman, now member of the Defence Policy Board for the DoD: together with Douglas Feith and Richard Wurmser, Perle authored a paper “A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm,” in 1996 which declared that “removing Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq' was an “important Israeli strategic objective...” (http://www.disinfopedia.org/wiki.phtml?title=Richard_N._Perle) That removal could not be accomplished without a 'casus belli' (an event used to justify war).

Douglas Feith, Undersecretary of Policy at the U.S. Department of Defence: "A prolific writer, Feith has left a long paper trail of anti-Arab tracts and diatribes against those who challenge or seek to compromise Israel’s strength and as he defines it, ‘moral superiority’ over the Arabs." (http://middleeastinfo.org/article701.html) Feith would participate in any plot to advance Israel's interests at the expense of the Arabs.

Along with the DoD triumvirate, add the two white house controllers. First, David Wurmser, whose Israeli wife and close friend Perle make him the perfect conduit to VP Richard Cheney. "...it was precisely because of the strategic importance of the Levant that Wurmser advocated overthrowing Iraqi President Saddam Hussein in favor of an Iraqi National Congress.... 'Whoever inherits Iraq dominates the entire Levant strategically,' he wrote in one 1996 paper for the Jerusalem-based Institute for Advanced Strategic and Political Studies." (http://www.disinfopedia.org/wiki.phtml?title=David_Wurmser. Iraq could not be 'inherited' without 9/11 as an excuse for a pre-emptive strike.

The second, Elliot Abrams, described in The Nation as "the nastiest policy warrior as Washington has seen in decades" was convicted of lying to Congress about the Iran Contra affair and he serves Israel in the National Security Council. As Jim Lobe observed in Tom Paine "Israel's Likud Scores Big With White House Appointment." Abrams would have no qualms about sacrificing American lives for Israel's benefit.

All of these Likudite Bush aides are unequivocal supporters of Israel's conservative Likud Party, now headed by the 'Butcher of Sabra & Shatilla' Ariel Sharon; and the dual loyalists have past ties either to Likud or to Israeli companies.

Having eliminated the impossible, what remains is not as improbable as it might have looked at first. What remains are people in the DoD with a motive. Combine that with the history of deception of both Mossad and the DoD as well as their proven willingness to sacrifice American lives for their causes.

Victor Ostrovsky (By Way of Deception and The Other Side of Deception) made it perfectly clear that Mossad often infiltrated any organization it wanted to watch and/or control. For them, infiltrating Al-Qaeda cells would be a cinch; and getting a number of Arabs to hijack planes under any ruse would be normal Mossad behaviour. Ostrovsky, former Mossad agent, revealed how Mossad got America to bomb Libya and fight Iraq. There’s plenty of evidence of Mossad agents posing as Arabs, thus supplying the "means" for the attacks and blaming Al-Qaeda and the Arabs. (http://www.fpp.co.uk/BoD/Mossad/FakePalestinians.html)

There's no reason to believe that the Arabs involved in the hijacking, who were not the expert flyers with the skills required to accomplish the flying feats of 9/11, had a clue about where they would end up in planes guided by remote control. Since the supposed Arab hijackers couldn't even fly small planes solo, according to the testimony of their flight instructors, and since remote control devices had proven effective, the process of elimination again points to the only conclusion remaining: 9/11 was planned and executed by Mossad and the DoD in order to justify military action in the Middle East for the major benefactor, Israel.

Until now, the belief that Israel could have anything to do with planning or executing the atrocities of 9/11 have been arbitrarily dismissed as ‘conspiracy theory’. The Anti Defamation League (ADL) in America has labelled any such beliefs as anti-Semitic. Conveniently, the ADL has chosen to ignore the fact that Arabs are also Semites. Furthermore, presenting a well-reasoned case against Israel—even when it or its agent’s activities are criminal—does not constitute anti Semitism. Israel, through its admittedly deceptive intelligence arm, Mossad, in tandem with a DoD run by "dual loyalists", had all that it takes to establish a case in a court of law: the means, the motive and the opportunity.

If the ADL or any other group wishes to protect its followers from the dangers of spreading anti-Semitism, they need to closely examine the activities of the war hawks in both Tel Aviv (or Jerusalem) and Washington. Most importantly, they need to ask and seek an honest answer to the question: who benefited from the catastrophe that killed thousands on September 11, 2001?

Media Leviathan, U.S. Intelligence Form Secret Cabal

A quiet gathering of the media’s top elites to discuss mergers, with a keynote address by the head of the CIA, escaped mention in the mainstream press.

Each year, at the posh ranch of investment banker Herbert Allen Jr., the world’s media elites meet to discuss strategy, possible mergers and editorial policy. It can only be called a media version of Bilderberg as government, corporate and media officials are meeting in secret, behind the usual wall of security.

As always, for all of these meetings that actually matter, leftist protests are strangely nonexistent, even though it is summertime and colleges are largely empty.

This year is a bit different, given that the key note speaker is none other than CIA Director George Tenet.

Tenet’s attendance has been likened to the “smoking gun” that researchers have been looking for, proving the institutional link between finance, media, government and business.

Like all meetings of this type, it is off limits to reporters, however ironic it might be for a media confab.

The world’s media, whose bosses are attending the gathering, have not bothered to mention the CIA connection this year, likely the first time the world’s premier intelligence gathering service has been invited to this media gathering.

One of the main issues this year is the buying up of French media giant Vivendi, currently run by Jean Bernard Levy (aka Jean Marie Fourtou, among other names), which controls Universal Studios, according to The New York Post.

Making bids are Edgar Bronfman, Jr. and Sumner Redstone.

Redstone also has made noises that he is interested in buying CNN.

How the Bilderberg Pulls the Strings

There was tremendous response to last week's article "Downsizing: Corporate Corruption or Globalist Enslavement". Most readers were glad for the perspective and alarmed to learn that corporate downsizing was not engineered to inflate profits but to destroy the accumulated wealth of millions of highly paid white-collar workers to prevent their early retirements and insure our continued enslavement. Many thinking readers, however, questioned the mechanism through which the majority of publicly traded corporations could have possibly colluded to perpetrate so vast a fraud. A few even doubted the motive, preferring to believe corporations were merely greedy. Corporate greed was certainly a factor, but sadly, the Bilderberg is the greater evil.

Having spent years in the oil industry where the mechanism has been practiced since the breakup of John D. Rockefeller's Standard Oil into the seven sisters, I was only too familiar with the method when the Bilderberg directive came down. No doubt you've noticed that big oil companies tend to act almost identically. Pump prices to rise and fall in harmony. Individual oil companies have followed identical strategies with very small times lags over the years. Whether it was the unrelated diversification wave of the 70s, the divestment and reorganization wave of the 80s, the downsizing wave of the 90s, or today's merger and acquisition wave; all major oil companies tend to pursue exactly the same strategy at virtually the same time. I don't hesitate to admit that they do it without direct collusion.

Many of you may have watched in disbelief as oil industry executives testify before congress that they do not collude to fix prices or on any other aspect of their businesses. Many find it hard to accept that these executives are not meeting regularly to fix prices. Be assured, oil companies do not have to collude to fix prices. Because big oil companies are nearly identical in structure and buy and sell crude oil, gasoline, and heat oil from each other on a continuous basis, no actual collusion is necessary to set prices. One of the dirty secrets the oil industry marketing machine has managed to keep from the public is that gas is gas. Aside from a tiny and insignificant additive unique to each company, gas is gas. It's the same everywhere. Because gas is gas, the oil companies don't bother to transport it from their own distant refinery to their gas stations. Instead, the company with the closest refinery or terminal supplies all the gas stations in its geographical area. They just trade the gas among themselves and save on the transportation cost. The additive is mixed in at the terminal when the trucks are loaded. If you believed your car did not run as good on Exxon as it did on Mobil you were a victim of marketing. Your gas came from the closest refinery regardless of what oil company happened to operate it. Gasoline pricing occurs automatically and without collusion. From the point of view of both the consumer and the Bilderberg, the oil industry operates as effectively one big company.

Okay, they don't have to collude to fix prices, but how can I explain that they all adopted identical corporate strategies over the years including the diversity programs and massive downsizings all at the same time and without direct collusion? As a senior financial analyst at BP Oil I received on my desk each morning the BP Oil Executive News Summary. It was nothing more than an assembling of all oil industry news articles from the prior day. The main way BP competed was to see what the other companies were doing and try to do it better. If Mobile announced it was putting a diversity initiative in place all the other major oil companies studied the strategy, hired the same consultants, created a few new buzzwords, and put a similar strategy in place. If Exxon announced a massive corporate downsizing, the other majors would compete to see who could fire the most workers. Once all the majors had decimated their white-collar workforces to the point that they could barely operate, they had to merge to survive and now we have Exxon-Mobil, BP-Amoco, Chevron-Texaco, etc.

I like to call the process "subliminal collusion." It was perfected in the oil industry, but it works nearly as well on a larger scale across the entire spectrum of publicly traded companies (downsizing is not a strategy practiced by privately held companies).

Bilderberg Puts Heat on 'Loose Cannon' Bush Over Mideast Policy

Never has a president of the United States been under such Bilderberg pressure as the current George Bush. All U.S. presidents since Richard Nixon have had membership in, or close ties to, the world shadow government.

President Bush is under heavy Bilderberg pressure to monetarily punish Israel unless the peace process progresses and to share the spoils of war on Iraq with Europe.

Bilderberg also hotly debated establishing a European Union army independent of NATO, whether to accept Turkey into the EU and punishing Belgium because of the rise of a “right wing” party (see related story on page 15).

Bilderberg had similarly punished Austria economically for holding a free election in which Jorge Haider’s nationalist party did well.

It is unprecedented for a U.S. president to come under such hostile Bilderberg fire. Not only have such secret meetings been traditionally congenial with participants celebrating their progress toward world government, but Bilderberg has had strong, direct influence over every president since Richard Nixon.

With Bush scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon May 20, immediately after the Bilderberg session, the messages from Versailles came frequently and urgently: tell Sharon he must accept the modest steps required in the “road map to peace” or the billions of dollars in U.S. aid will be turned off.

“That is language Israel will understand but Sharon doesn’t believe you will do it,” a European told the Americans. “You have opposed Israeli expansion and occupation of Palestinian lands with your mouth but not your money. Why are you so afraid of the Israeli lobby?”

The answer is obvious to people who follow U.S. politics. The late Sen. J. William Fulbright and congressmen Paul Findley of Illinois and Robert McCloskey of California, among others, all said they lost their seats because of questioning the amount of aid given Israel each year.

The May 20 trip was later postponed because of a suicide bombing incident.

Bilderberg Black Out

To witness the annual Bilderberg conference is to realize how the “Lords of the New World Order”—the self-chosen elite of international finance, business, and politics—are allowed to assemble in secret and conspire with the connivance of the mainstream media.

Given the tumultuous events in the Middle East and the serious strains in U.S.-French relations, one would expect that an event near Paris, in which scores of key U.S. and European officials meet with the heads of international finance and business, would attract considerable media attention. However, while Bilderberg 2003 at the historic Trianon Palace at Versailles was an extraordinary gathering of the global elite, it passed with scarcely a word in the controlled press.

In the historic Trianon Palace Hotel, where the Versailles treaty was handed to the defeated Germans after World War I, the individuals who head the world’s largest oil companies and financial institutions convened during four days, in total seclusion, with selected political leaders and media owners.

Because of the near total blackout of Bilderberg in the mass media, knowledge of what was going on in the Trianon from May 15-18 was limited to those who read James Tucker’s articles in American Free Press.

The Trianon Palace is a luxury hotel immediately adjacent to the magnificent grounds of the palace of Versailles. The entry to the hotel sits near the Grille de la Reine, a gated entry to the royal park built by the 17th century French monarchs, King Louis XIII and his son Louis XIV.

Some of the well-to-do residents of the neighborhood of the Trianon, unaware of what was occurring in the hotel, were shocked to discover that their cars had been towed away early on Thursday, May 16, as Bilderberg security had demanded.

By mid-day the street leading to the hotel had been completely cleared and a security cordon set around the entire neighborhood. Local residents who lived within the security perimeter were obliged to identify themselves to Bilderberg security and armed national police at the checkpoint at the end of the Boulevard de la Reine.

The US is no longer a status quo power. Attendance at this year's Bilderberg meeting, in Versailles, made clear how big a challenge this poses to the health of the transatlantic alliance. I went to the meeting convinced that divorce between the US and Europe had become possible. I left thinking that it could easily become unstoppable.

Clyde Prestowitz, a former member of the Reagan administration, has expressed the worry in his provocatively entitled new book, Rogue Nation.* In this he makes two significant points. The first is that "the imperial project of the so-called neo-conservatives is not conservativism at all, but radicalism, egotism and adventurism articulated in the stirring rhetoric of traditional patriotism". The second is that this radicalism both frightens and enrages foreigners. What astonished me at the meeting is that these emotions are felt by pro-American businesspeople, politicians, academics and journalists. Americans believe that French and German opposition to the war in Iraq was a betrayal of decades of support. But many Europeans believe recent US behaviour was a betrayal of what the US has taught them. The ideological gulf is wide.

Americans and Europeans share many values. That is hardly an accident. The US devoted much blood and treasure to turning Europe into a stable continent of liberal democracies. But in many ways, Europe and the US have become very different. Most important, the US has now adopted old European theories of international relations, while the Europeans have embraced a newer American one.

The classic European system rested on the sovereign independence of states. In their relations, states recognised neither legal nor moral constraints. But states also agreed not to interfere in one another's internal affairs. Today's European states reject this view of the world, because it engendered catastrophe. Operating within an unstable balance of power, illiberal states fomented wars that brought the deaths of millions. European civilisation foundered.

The answer, Europeans decided, was to embrace the ideals proffered by the American president Woodrow Wilson: peace, free markets and democracy. Within Europe, under American auspices, they created a supra-national order that stood the classical system on its head. Instead of sovereign independence, Europe would have a supra-national authority and a shared commitment to democracy and human rights. Sensible Europeans are not naive enough to believe the world can operate without resort to force. They are also grateful to the US for its ability and willingness to apply that force. But they are Wilsonian, for an obvious reason: if Germany were to announce its adherence to the doctrines that now animate the US, stability in Europe would vanish.

Today's US is not Wilsonian. It is important, however, to define in what way it is not. In doing so, we must recognise the tension within the administration between nationalists and neo-conservatives. Where they agree is in their rejection of moral or legal constraints on the sovereign independence of the US. Where they disagree is on how far pursuit of those interests requires interference in the internal organisation of other states. Nationalists focus only on direct threats, principally state sponsorship of terrorism and weapons of mass destruction. Neo-conservatives desire to embed liberal democracy, as well, since its absence explains, in their view, why states generate these threats.

Nationalists then are anti-Wilsonian in both their means and their ends. Liberal imperialists are anti-Wilsonian in their means, but Wilsonian in their ends. Yet both groups unambiguously reject the secular religion of contemporary European elites, which is Wilsonian in means and ends. The new US doctrines are, from the general European point of view, poison. They invite them back to the world of Bismarck. For many Europeans the contemporary American ideology is made more bitter by the perception that it represents a betrayal of what they have learned from the US.

A transatlantic alliance cannot be sustained if the US remains dedicated to its current doctrines, except as a state of dependency on one side and mastery on the other. There are, instead, two alternatives. The first is a divorce, with abandonment of the institutions that bring the two sides of the Atlantic together. The second is a pragmatic partnership, in which the two sides work together in areas of common interest.

The masters of the universe

It may be instructive to learn what US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and the "Prince of Darkness" Richard Perle were doing last weekend. From May 15 to 18 they were guests at the Trianon Palace Hotel, close to the spectacular Versailles palace near Paris, for the annual meeting of the Bilderberg club.

Depending on the ideological prism applied, the Bilderberg club may be considered an ultra-VIP international lobby of the power elite of Europe and America, capable of steering international policy from behind closed doors; a harmless "discussion group" of politicians, academics and business tycoons; or a capitalist secret society operating entirely through self interest and plotting world domination.

The Bilderberg club is regarded by many financial and business elites as the high chamber of the high priests of capitalism. You can't apply for membership of such a club. Each year, a mysterious "steering committee" devises a selected invitation list with a maximum 100 names. The location of their annual meeting is not exactly secret: they even have a headquarters in Leiden, in the Netherlands. But the meetings are shrouded in the utmost secrecy. Participants and guests rarely reveal that they are attending. Their security is managed by military intelligence. But what is the secretive group really up to? Well, they talk. They lobby. They try to magnify their already immense political clout, on both sides of the Atlantic. And everybody pledges absolute secrecy on what has been discussed.

The Bilderberg mingles central bankers, defense experts, press barons, government ministers, prime ministers, royalty, international financiers and political leaders from Europe and America. Guests this year, along with Rumsfeld and Perle (US Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz is also a member) included banker David Rockefeller, as well as various members of the Rockefeller family, Henry Kissinger, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, Queen Sofia and King Juan Carlos of Spain, and high officials of assorted governments. The Bilderberg does not invite - or accept - Asians, Middle Easterners, Latin Americans or Africans.

Some of the Western world's leading financiers and foreign policy strategists attend Bilderberg, in their view, to polish and reinforce a virtual consensus, an illusion that globalization, defined under their terms - what's good for banking and big business is good for everybody else - is inevitable and for the greater good of mankind. If they have a hidden agenda, it is the fact that their fabulous concentration of wealth and power is completely dissociated from the explanation to their guests of how globalization benefits 6.2 billion people. Some of the club's earlier guests went on to become crucial players. Bill Clinton in 1991 and Tony Blair in 1993 were invited and duly "approved" by the Bilderberg before they took office.
There are innumerable shady, still unexplained connections between the early Bilderberg club and the Nazis, via Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, the father of Queen Beatrix, who founded the club in Bilderberg in 1954 (the name is taken from a Dutch hotel), aiming to "increase understanding between Europe and North America". Bernhard was a member of Adolf Hitler's SS. One of the founding members of the Bilderberg is Otto Wolff von Amerongen - who actively improved business links between Germany and the Soviet bloc and served on 26 boards of directors, including Deutsche Bank. Few people know him - and perhaps for some good reason: he has been linked to the Nazi's theft of Jewish holdings before and during World War II.

Rumsfeld is an active Bilderberger. So is General Peter Sutherland from Ireland, a former European Union commissioner and chairman of Goldman Sachs and BP. Rumsfeld and Sutherland served together in 2000 on the board of Swiss energy company ABB. And ABB happened to have sold two light-water nuclear reactors to North Korea. At the time, of course, North Korea was not an active member of the "axis of evil".
