The carefully-crafted image of George W. Bush as a bold, decisive leader is cracking under the weight of new revelations that the erratic President is indecisive, moody, paranoid and delusional.

“More and more this brings back memories of the Nixon White House,” says retired political science professor George Harleigh, who worked for President Nixon during the second presidential term that ended in resignation under fire. “I haven’t heard any reports of President Bush wondering the halls talking to portraits of dead Presidents but what I have been told is disturbing.”

Two weeks ago, Capitol Hill Blue revealed that a growing number of White House aides are concerned about the President’s mental stability. They told harrowing tales of violent mood swings, bouts with paranoia and obscene outbursts from a President who wears his religion on his sleeve.

Although supporters of President Bush dismissed the reports as “fantasies from anonymous sources,” a new book by Dr. Justin Frank, director of psychiatry at George Washington University, raises many similar questions about the President’s mental stability.

"George W. Bush is a case study in contradiction," Dr. Frank writes in Bush On The Couch: Inside the Mind of the President. "Bush is an untreated ex-alcoholic with paranoid and megalomaniac tendencies."

In addition, a new film by documentary filmmaker, and frequent Bush critic, Michael Moore shows the President indecisive and clearly befuddled when he learned about the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

While conservative critics who have not yet seen Fahrenheit 9/11 dismiss the work as an anti-Bush screed, Roger Friedman of the normally pro-Bush Fox News Network has seen the film and calls it “a tribute to patriotism, to the American sense of duty — and at the same time a indictment of stupidity and avarice.”

Friedman also says the films “most indelible moment” comes when Bush, speaking to a group of school kids in Florida, is first informed of the 9/11 attacks.

“Instead of jumping up and leaving, he instead sat in front of the class, with an unfortunate look of confusion, for nearly 11 minutes,” Friedman says. “Moore obtained the footage from a teacher at the school who videotaped the morning program. There Bush sits, with no access to his advisers, while New York is being viciously attacked. I guarantee you that no one who sees this film forgets this episode.”

Shell Chairman: My Fears For Planet

Oil Chief's 'Confession' Shocks Industry

The head of one of the world's biggest oil companies has admitted that the threat of climate change makes him "really very worried for the planet".

In an interview in today's Guardian Life section, Ron Oxburgh, chairman of Shell, says we urgently need to capture emissions of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide, which scientists think contribute to global warming, and store them underground - a technique called carbon sequestration.

"Sequestration is difficult, but if we don't have sequestration then I see very little hope for the world," said Lord Oxburgh. "No one can be comfortable at the prospect of continuing to pump out the amounts of carbon dioxide that we are pumping out at present ... with consequences that we really can't predict but are probably not good."

His comments will enrage many in the oil industry, which is targeted by climate change campaigners because the use of its products spews out huge quantities of carbon dioxide, most visibly from vehicle exhausts.

His words follow those of the government's chief science adviser, David King, who said in January that climate change posed a bigger threat to the world than terrorism.

Criminal Government Is Destroying America - Military Must Step In To Restore The Constitution

Our government is out of control. The elections are rigged. The Congress is completely bought off. The White House administration is a gang of criminals who are stealing the nation blind. There is no proper accountability from any department of government. And the United States is conducting two major wars, irresponsibly squandering the lives of our young people, for reasons that everyone in the world knows are lies.

Be clear about this: no government official, nor any major media outlet, is objecting to two wars the United States is conducting that everyone knows the reasons for are lies. Tens of thousands of people have been killed for lies, and no one in a position of public responsibility is condemning it.

America has become a nation of monstrously perverted mass murderers. And if you're an American and are not condemning it, then you are complicit in it. You're supporting needless mass murder, you pig!

People are being jailed for no reason, illegally tortured while in custody and deprived of due process. Innocent families around the world are being humiliated and killed for no legitimate reason. Our law enforcement apparatus - corrupt courts and cops - are failing to stop obvious crimes committed by the very rich, and assaulting ordinary citizens trying in a lawful manner to protest these injustices.

I repeat, rich corporations are allowed to commit crimes, and ordinary people are being put in jail for committing no crime.

Legitimate law enforcement in the United States has completely broken down. The biggest criminal in the country right now is John Ashcroft, the top man in America's law enforcement hierarchy, who is guilty of thousands of counts of obstruction of justice by failing to investigate and prosecute a titanic list of crimes committed by those who gave him his job.

The Supreme Court, the highest law panel in the land, assisted in a coup d'etat in 2000 by failing to investigate thousands of people who were illegally prevented from voting that changed the outcome of the election.

The upcoming election promises no relief from the murderous tyranny that now grips Washington. Both candidates are privileged children of the rich who are members of a satanic fraternity at Yale University and won't talk about their perverted rituals. No matter who is elected, America's future is more wars, more deaths, more destruction.

An irrational president and his demonic accomplices keep talking about a new terror attack they are expecting any day. Legitimate researchers have pointed out the worldwide terror threat known as al-Qaeda is actually a deceptive construction of the U.S. CIA and Israel's Mossad.

The terror attacks that threaten us are actually coordinated by Washington and Tel Aviv. There exists legitimate evidence that the bombings in New York, Madrid, Bali, Istanbul, Yemen and elsewhere were actually the work of CIA/Mossad operatives, as are the murders of thousands of innocent people in Iraq. The anthrax murder investigation was stopped when the trail led back to the White House.

In 2001, terror attacks by this same organization created by White House speechwriters and CIA recruiters killed more than 3,000 Americans in New York and Washington. The government had steadfastly impeded an investigation of the events of 9/11, and the commission it has empaneled to conduct a probe has consistently failed to address the major questions asked by thousands of researchers around the world.

Specifically, billions of dollars were made in profits from insider trading in the days before 9/11. The FBI has investigated and said there was nothing suspicious about these profits. How the American people can accept this blatant lie is a preposterous example of the soporific stupor that has engulfed the U.S. populace. The identity of the perpetrators of the treasonous attacks of 9/11 is known by those investors, yet the government refuses to pursue those criminals.

Plentiful photographic evidence and eyewitness testimony exists that the World Trade Center was brought down by explosions. The evidence was carted off and disposed of without an adequate investigation. The Air Force failed to defend the nation against the air attacks on 9/11. The people in charge of our air defenses were promoted, because they were complicit in the crime of the century.

The mainstream media has for years failed to report on crimes by the federal government. It has failed to report that the ingredients of major soft drinks puts holes in your brain with extended use. Mainstream media conducted a powwow after the last election to review the voting process, concluded the election had been stolen, but then decided to cover up the crime.

Most people agree that Senator Paul Wellstone was murdered after an argument with Vice President Dick Cheney. There was no real investigation. A woman in Texas who filed a lawsuit against the president for rape and torture was found shot to death. It was ruled a suicide. No one is investigating. Bush reportedly dated the woman in high school and speculation is that he was using the woman as his sex slave because he is above the law.

Virtually all members of the Congress, shortly after 9/11, voted to pass legislation that nullified most of the basic protections in the Constitution for the American people. Few Americans protested. Additional legislation has further eroded the rights of Americans.

The right to privacy in America has all but disappeared. The government operation to deprive Americans of their privacy, once guaranteed by the Constitution, was headed by a known felon, who lied to Congress and was convicted for it during the reign of Ronald Reagan.

American citizens are being infected with unknown diseases by strange practices called chemtrails that appears in our skies. Doctors in league with evil pharmaceutical companies are forcing mind-numbing drugs on both children and adults, and after paying off politicians are granted legal immunity from mistakes they may make, from outright poisons they choose to prescribe.

The American government is criminal enterprise, and American law enforcement is complicit in the crime. The only way to stop the continuing crime spree is by a military takeover and a declaration of martial law. Hundreds of cops, attorneys and judges need to be in jail.

We need a new government, one that sees to the needs of people, not to the needs of bankers and corporations.

Ordinary citizens might be worried about such a move, but they shouldn't be. The purpose of this martial law situation would not be to curtail American liberty, but to restore it.

The thrust of a military takeover should be directed at the people committing the crimes, primarily government officials, executives of the petroleum and pharmaceutical industries, and bankers and stock traders. All officials of the Federal Reserve Board, Council on Foreign Relations and Trilateral Commission should be immediately jailed for future interrogations concerning their crimes against humanity.

And investigation needs to be conducted into the FBI and CIA for their creation of the terror apparatus known as al-Qaeda, which has been blamed for innumerable instances of terror around the world. A good place to start would be the Philippines, where American agents have fomented revolution against that government and exported terrorist double agents around the world as part of a devious plan to increase profits for American defense contractors.

The entire Congress needs to be indicted for treason, simply for their vote on the Patriot Act, but for plenty of other corrupt actions as well.

The entire Bush administration, and many officials from previous presidential adminstrations, need to be arrested for corruption for taking bribes from corporations and then promptly passing laws advantageous to those corporations.

Thousands of investment bankers, securities dealers, and stock traders need to be arrested for theft. Kenneth Lay, George Bush's top contributor, needs to be in jail immediately for his theft of a billion dollars from the people of California.

In addition, the military needs to take an immediate hard look at Israel, whose agents have penetrated virtually all aspects of the operation of the American government and American society as well. Next to the United States, Israel is the greatest threat to peace in the world, as it has already admitted it has missiles aimed at all the capitals of Europe, and it continues to conduct its heartless genocide against the hapless Palestinian people.

Ordinary people should not be affected at all by martial law. The military should leave them and their families alone. Ordinary Americans have not broken the law, but have been the victims of governmental leaders who have.

First of all, the military needs to bring as many troops home as possible, immediately. Arrangements can be made with other grateful countries to stem the needless bleeding America has caused in so many places around the world. Our continuing commitment to Iraq should not be to fatten the coffers of corporations, but to apologize to the Iraqi people that Americans have committed in the name of so-called democracy.

The military needs to investigate virtually every law enforcement operation in America. Every town, city, county and state in America is afflicted by criminal behavior in its law enforcement and court apparatus.

And first and foremost, as a new government of the United States is reconstituted in a democratic way guided by the principles of the Constitution, America needs to regain control of its money supply from the international bankers who control the world. Most of those international bankers need to be in jail, too, in orange jumpsuits at Guantanamo alongside the whole Bush family, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Ashcroft, Myers, Rice, Perle, Wolfowitz, Libby, Scalia, Rehnquist, Clarence Thomas, Tenet, Freeh, and all those other corrupt law enforcement officials and judges, corporate presidents, and corrupt Congressmen.

I know, the prospect of a military takeover is scary. But consider the choice: do you want men in control who are sworn to defend the Constitution, as is the military, or those who are sworn to make money for the super-rich, as are both Bush and Kerry and practically anybody else who runs for office.

Consider what will happen is this DOESN'T happen. It's really no exaggeration to say we likely are looking at the end of the world as we know it. At the very least, we are headed toward a slave society in which many Americans will starve to death if Bush and Kerry are allowed to continue on their merry way.

In addition, there is another important reason for a military takeover, and that is to redeploy our forces to defend our country, rather than to misuse and abuse them by plundering innocent nations for the criminal corporations who control so many of our politicians.

I really trust our people in uniform, because I really am an American. And as an American, I am terribly ashamed of my country for the horrific things it has done, both to people around the world and its own citizens. It's the criminals in Washington who have no allegiance to any country who have ordered our military to do all those bad things. The Bush family and their criminal sidekicks are not really Americans, they're murderous crooks who lie about everything and whose only allegiance is to their own wallets, their own sexual perversions, their own sick visions of the world which decent people want no part of.

Martial law now. Military tribunals for Bush, Cheney and the rest of those sick sociopaths.

It's the only way we're ever going to find peace again. And the only way we're really ever going to be able to defend our country.

Otherwise, it's curtains for everyone.

Guantanamo: What the World Should Know

Read and understand my friends, we are all in the deepest of danger!

Americans should care about what goes on at Guantanamo for a number of reasons. First of all, the way we are treating the prisoners there is a scandal, an embarrassment to the people of this country and an outrage to the people of the world. That you can take someone and put him in a prison offshore with no legal rights whatsoever for two and a half years is simply inhumane.

Second, our treatment of these people, who are primarily Muslims and of Arabic ethnic origin, should be a cause of tremendous consternation because of the message it sends to the Muslim world. Guantanamo has become iconic in the Arab and Muslim world; it stands for the United States doing wrong and abusing people. If we want to live in a safe world, the message we should send is that we will treat people not like animals but like human beings. Although we should be trying to lessen the anger toward the United States within the Muslim and Arab world, we are not doing that; we are, in fact, doing the opposite.

Third, we should care about Guantanamo because we should care about how others are going to treat our citizens. If Americans -- soldiers or civilians -- are picked up overseas, how do we want them to be treated? Do we want them treated lawfully, in accordance with either criminal law or the Geneva Conventions, or do we want them treated like we are treating the prisoners at Guantanamo? The United States is setting an example for how international prisoners are to be treated, and it is a terrible example.

A fourth reason we should care is what this all means for the future of the rule of law, and for the building of societies that are based upon the rule of law and not on the dictates of kings or presidents. For nearly eight hundred years, since the signing of the Magna Carta in 1215, our laws have insisted that every single human being is entitled to some kind of judicial process before he or she can be thrown in jail. The United States is trying to overturn one of the most fundamental principles of Anglo-American jurisprudence and international law. This is a principle that is found in the Declaration of the Rights of Man, in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. We have gone back to a pre-Magna Carta medieval system, not a system of laws, but of executive fiat, where the king-or in this case the president-simply decides, on any particular day, I'm going to throw you into some prison. You are not going to have access to a lawyer or anybody else, or even know if there are any charges against you, or if you will ever be released from this prison. Guantanamo has become our Devil's Island, our Chateau d'If from The Count of Monte Cristo. The consequences of this unilateral abrogation of fundamental law are grave, not merely for the people in Guantanamo and for citizens of other countries, but also for every person in the United States. If we care about civilization and the rule of law and justice, we cannot keep treating people like this. There should be no place in the world that is a law-free zone, no place in the world where human beings have no rights...The key point here is that everyone picked up in a war is protected by the Geneva Conventions. No one is outside the law. No one can be treated arbitrarily at the discretion of his captors.

Cheney linked to suspect contracts

What more can you expect from a regime so corrupt that they may as well be on eBay! In the bag of really bad apples which is the Bush regime Cheney is by far the most rotten and smelly of all of them, and I should add, one of the richest too! The Pentagon has acknowledged that Vice-President Dick Cheney's chief of staff and other political appointees helped make the controversial decision on a $1.8 million contract for the postwar recovery of Iraq's oil sector.

The decision to award the contract to the energy giant Halliburton overruled recommendations of an army lawyer. Eventually it resulted in the awarding of a much larger $US7 billion ($A10 billion) no-bid contract to Halliburton. Mr Cheney ran Halliburton for five years before he was nominated for vice-president.

Democrat congressman Henry Waxman said the new details about Halliburton and Mr Cheney's office were disclosed last week in a Pentagon briefing to Democratic and Republican staff from the Government Reform Committee.

Mr Waxman said the briefing raised new questions about whether the Vice-President played any role in decisions to give what became billions of dollars' worth of Government business to Halliburton without going to tender.

Mr Cheney, who was chief executive of the Houston-based oil services company from 1995 to 2000, has repeatedly denied that he or his office influenced decisions to give contracts to Halliburton.

In a letter to Mr Cheney on Sunday, Mr Waxman said the circumstances "appear to contradict your assertions that you were not informed about the Halliburton contracts".

"They also seem to contradict the Administration's repeated assertions that political appointees were not involved in the award of contracts to Halliburton," he wrote.

Planet Crumbles While We're Off Fighting Terror

History has shown that human societies often misjudge risk, and that is the case today. With world attention focused almost exclusively on terrorism and Iraq, another, even more serious security threat deepens -- the global environmental/humanitarian crisis.

While we remain virtually hypnotized by terrorism, humanity is quietly destroying the biosphere in which we live, ourselves and our future along with it. Just since 9/11, 25 million children died from preventable causes, the world's population grew by 200 million people and thousands of species went extinct. Also, 250,000 square miles of forest were lost, 50,000 square miles of arable land turned to desert, 8 billion tons of carbon were added to the atmosphere and air pollution claimed more than 4 million lives.

Our boat is sinking, we know the causes and consequences, and we know how to solve the problem. Yet policy-makers keep rearranging the deck chairs. Left unattended, this broad environmental/humanitarian crisis will foreclose any hope for security in the world. Certainly we must address terrorism, but just as certainly we must ensure our planet's sustainability.

The Explosion of the 9-11 Truth Movement

U.S. Media's Dirty Little Secret

A mass movement and a mountain of disturbing evidence has been growing beneath the radar of U.S. media. The U.S. media (including alternative media) has done an extraordinarily superhuman job of "hearing" "seeing" and "speaking no evil." However, almost immediately after 9-11-2001's horrendous attacks on New York and Washington D.C., many researchers, ordinary citizens, and journalists [who've been given precious little print in U.S. papers or TV] began to smell something rotten . . . not in Denmark . . . but rather, right here in the good ol' US of A.

This movement's early roots began when many people scratched their heads in wonder at "how 4 commercial jet liners could fly hijacked for nearly an hour and a half the morning of 9-11, without any Air Force fighter interceptor jets turning a wheel until it was too late," as stated by acclaimed Canadian TV journalist, Barry Zwicker. Zwicker's powerful documentary "The Great Deception," which suggests top Bush Admin. officials were likely complicit in the 9-11 attacks, aired on Canada's Vision TV network which is viewed by millions of Canadians. Unfortunately Americans in the U.S. have been "protected" from viewing this critical documentary.

Researchers, like Zwicker and others, quickly learned that in 2001 before the 9-11 attacks 62 aircraft had been intercepted by Air Force fighter interceptor jets, and usually within 10 to 15 minutes of going off course. [http://septembereleventh.org/airdefense.php] Yet bizarrely, on 9-11 four commercial jets were hijacked off course for about one and a half hours before the last one crashed into the most highly protected building in the world (the Pentagon). . . yet no interceptor jet intercepted it in all that time. Alarm bells went off with citizens across the U.S. and the world. A number of people including former NYPD detective, Frank Serpico (played by Al Pacino in the movie about his life as an NYPD whistleblower exposing corruption at the New York Police Department), began to express a suspicion of the "official 9-11 story" during a whistleblower awards ceremony nationally televised on C-SPAN.

Then other issues came to light regarding 9-11, and foreknowledge of the attacks. For example, a former Los Angeles Police Detective named Michael Ruppert noted that outrageously high volumes of insider trading on United and American Airlines stocks prior to 9-11, (reported on by CBS, Bloomberg and other financial papers) actually had some strange ties to the Central Intelligence Agency. 9/11-related insider trading was worldwide. It occurred on markets in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Chicago, New York, London and Berlin. Estimates of the total amount of insider trades have ranged from the hundred of millions (CBS), to the billions (Ernst Weltke – Chief of the Bundesbank), to the tens of billions (Andreas von Bülow, former German cabinet minister).

But some of the "put" options purchased on United and American airlines inside the US caught Ruppert's attention. "Put Options" are bets one can make AGAINST a stock, betting that it will fall.

As Ruppert quickly noted, in one known case, a large number of "put" options were placed through the Alex Brown or (AB Brown) Unit of Deutschebank. Ruppert recalled that AB Brown had been chaired until he became the Executive Director (No. 3) at the CIA in 1998, by A.B. "Buzzy" Krongard.

AB Brown and Deutschebank have a history of being connected with covert operations and money laundering. In fact had, they had just been investigated by Senator Levin's committee on Correspondent Banking and mentioned in Department of Justice investigations. So, it begs the question, if you were an Arab terrorist who wanted to cash in on your foreknowledge of the next days' attacks using United and American Airlines stock, would you go to a known CIA connected bank to do it? --especially, if you knew, as Ruppert had previously documented, that the CIA tracks all stock trades in real time? Probably not.

One $2.5 million trade, made through AB Brown by a late-comer went unclaimed after 9-11 when the markets were closed for four days. By that time alarms over the insider trades were sounding all over, even on CBS News. Most of the smarter crooks had absconded with their money by exercising their put options while the attacks were taking place through offshore accounts.

The head of AB Brown, Mayo Shattuck III, who is a close friend and associate of Krongard, resigned the day after 9-11-2001 without anyone except Ruppert connecting the dots. To this day the Bush Administration has not told us who made those insider trades or why the head of AB Brown resigned on 9-12-2001.

Other stories from foreign press began to be read by a growing number of Americans who realized quickly that they had to read foreign press to get to the ugly facts around 9-11. A conservative French newspaper, La Figaro, reported an incredible fact, that the CIA station chief in Dubai had met with Osama Bin Laden weeks before the 9-11 attacks as Osama was being treated at a U.S. Army hospital in Dubai. Yet, even though Osama was on the CIA most wanted list, the CIA station chief did not only NOT arrest him, but met with him and then reportedly went back to the U.S. for high level meetings in Washington following his meeting with Osama. Even more bizarrely alarming facts surfaced such as the article in a prominent Indian newspaper reporting that the hijacker mastermind of 9-11, Mohammed Atta, had been wired $100,000.00 by the head of Pakistani Intelligence weeks before 9-11, who oddly enough was in Washington meeting with top Bush Admin. officials ON 9-11-2001.

Although none of these bizarre facts raised any hairs in the U.S. media corps, a corps which had done such an "outstanding" job ferreting out the truth on the weapons of mass destruction issue before the ill fated war on Iraq, these facts WERE disturbing to many other Americans. Some Americans were able to see through the endless media fixation on celebrities and their endless foibles, and these vigilant Americans were looking deep, long and hard at the above facts and the more they saw the more alarming it became.

The Pentagon's new "Terrorist Mastermind"

Who is Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi?

The US intelligence apparatus has created it own terrorist organizations. And at the same time, it creates its own terrorist warnings concerning the terrorist organizations which it has itself created. In turn, it has developed a cohesive multibillion dollar counterterrorism program "to go after" these terrorist organizations.

Counterterrorism and war propaganda are intertwined. The propaganda apparatus feeds disinformation into the news chain. The terror warnings must appear to be "genuine". The objective is to present the terror groups as "enemies of America."

The underlying objective is to galvanize public opinion in support of America's war agenda.

The "war on terrorism" requires a humanitarian mandate. The war on terrorism is presented as a "Just War", which is to be fought on moral grounds "to redress a wrong suffered."

The Just War theory defines "good" and "evil." It concretely portrays and personifies the terrorist leaders as "evil individuals".

Several prominent American intellectuals and antiwar activists, who stand firmly opposed to the Bush administration, are nonetheless supporters of the Just War theory: "We are against war in all its forms but we support the campaign against international terrorism."

To reach its foreign policy objectives, the images of terrorism must remain vivid in the minds of the citizens, who are constantly reminded of the terrorist threat.

The propaganda campaign presents the portraits of the leaders behind the terror network. In other words, at the level of what constitutes an "advertising" campaign, "it gives a face to terror." The "war on terrorism" rests on the creation of one or more evil bogeymen, the terror leaders, Osama bin Laden, Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi, et al, whose names and photos are presented ad nauseam in daily news reports.

The White House's Iraq fib factory went into overdrive last week, ballyhooing claims that the new "caretaker government" the UN had supposedly just installed in Baghdad was "fully sovereign" and "totally independent."

We would like to believe American president George Bush. But this latest claim comes from the same truth-deficient people who concocted Iraq's imminent threat to destroy the U.S. with nuclear and germ weapons, Saddam Hussein's vans and drones of death, Saddam's tryst with Osama bin Laden, and a slew of other preposterous whoppers that would have made the Nazis' propagandist, Dr. Joseph Goebbels, blush deep crimson.

The latest U.S.-authored regime change in Iraq was a political charade designed to soothe uneasy American voters who are increasingly alarmed by the aimlessness, mounting casualties and $186-billion US cost -- as much as the Vietnam War at its height-- of the Iraq misadventure.

The White House dreads the oncoming national uproar when the number of American soldiers killed in Iraq hits 1,000. It desperately needs to show some light at the end of the Iraq tunnel before November's elections.

So it arm-twisted the UN's weak secretary general, Kofi Annan, into allowing his organization to be crudely misused to legitimize continuing U.S.-British occupation of Iraq by supposedly selecting candidates for the new "sovereign" regime.

In the end, Washington chose its own men and simply ignored the UN after it provided the required fig leaf.

The result: Iraq's new regime, installed under the guns of U.S. tanks, makes the former Soviet Union's Eastern European satellite states look like paragons of unfettered independence.

Off-the-shelf CIA "asset" Iyad Allawi was made strongman/prime minister -- just like Afghanistan's U.S.-installed figurehead Hamid Karzai, another CIA stock item. Iraq's defence and interior ministries will also be run by other U.S. "assets." Some 160 senior American "advisers" will supervise all key ministries, notably defence, police, finance, communications and a new, CIA-trained secret police.

All the U.S. billions presently funding Iraq, and overall control of oil revenues, will be managed by a special U.S. "advisory and monitoring board."

France once ran its nominally independent West African colonies in a similar manner.

Why London Still Opposes Collusion Inquiries into Ulster Murders

Downing Street, though formally committed to the recommendations of retired Canadian High Court judge Peter Cory after his inquiries in Northern Ireland and the Republic, is actually opposed to the judicial inquiries he recommended into official collusion in four sectarian murder in Ulster leading up to the implementation of the Good Friday Agreement for the simple reason that they might well scuttle it. The delicate situation has been compromised further by the fallout from the Hutton Inquiry's verdict into the death of biological weapons expert Dr. David Kelly - what was so one-sided, and contrary to the evidence that the integrity of the bench, particularly Lord Hutton, was called into question. The Blair government decided to delay matters further in the hope that passions will fade with Hutton disappearing into retirement.

Hutton's finding were so controversial that the English media even gave former Provisional Irish Reublican Army (PIRA) "Lord Chief Justice" Danny Morrison opportunities to express his dissatisfaction with the former Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland. Morrison had the responsibility of determining why the 'tet offensive'-style attack on the Derryard check point, near Roslea, in December 1989 was such a fiasco. Instead of the PIRA flying column blowing up the quarters of the King's Own Scottish Borderers with a 400-pound van after a withering fusillade of fire - what they had hoped to do at the Loughgall police station back in 1987 - it was ambushed by British soldiers hiding in a nearby field, and a Wessex helicopter flying overhead. Then the bomb failed to explode. While two British Army soldiers were killed, the PIRA was lucky to escape without injury or capture.

Morrison's job was to determine who had sabotaged the bomb, and tipped off the British of the attack, and, its seems, several members had done so, particularly 'Stake Knife' aka Freddie Scappaticci. Why they informed was in the hope of getting the peace process back on track, now that Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher had said she was willing to negotiate a settlement, after the shooting of the unarmed PIRA volunteers on The Rock in May 1988 - what had set another 'Steak Knife' aka Padraic Wilson and 'John Oakes' on the warpath since he set up the operation with a peaceful outcome in mind. Once RUC Special Branch agent Sandy Lynch had been caught, it was Morrison's job to see that he was fully interrogated in the hope of discovering the leak or leakers - what had not occurred when Joe Fenton was suspected in February 1989 of having betrayed the Libyan arms shipment on the Eksund in October 1987 for the original 'tet offensive'. Fenton was killed by over-eager interrogators.

No sooner did Morrison arrive at the site where Lynch was being held than he was arrested by police and soldiers. Morrison obviously thought his arrest was the result of another tipoff - what was confirmed during his trial before Lord Hutton after which he was sentenced to eight years in prison on the basis of an informer's claims. While serving his time, Morrison became quite disillusioned with the PIRA and the peace process, culminating in the terms of the Weston Park agreement which was intended to prevent any judicial inquiries which could embarrass any of the parties on both sides of the border. In lieu of them, London and Dublin were willing to think about possible inquiries into the shooting of Belfast solicitor Pat Finucane in February 1989 by three Ulster Defence Association (UDA) assassins, the beating death of Catholic Robert Hamill in 1997 by the Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF) in Portadown while the RUC Special Branch looked on, Irish National Liberation Army's murder of hard-liner Billy Wright, the head of the Mid-Ulster UVF, in retaliation in the Maze Prison shortly thereafter, and the murder of another solicitor, Rosemary Nelson, by a car bomb outside her home in Lurgan in March 1999. They were thought to have no connection with other killings, especially most controversial ones, or any pattern of systematic ones.

Morrison, in his article "My Report on Hutton" for The Guardian of February 3, 2004, ruined these illustions by talking about the Law Lord's role in helping cover up the Finucane murder - what previous accounts had gone to great lengths to show was free of political and judicial interference. (See, e. g., Peter Harclerode's Secret Soldiers, pp. 567-71.) The solicitor's killing was the most notorious one that Brian Nelson, the Force Research Unit's mole in UDA intelligence, arranged with its assassins, and his ultimate plea bargain over it and many other crimes seemed to have been arranged between Sir John Stevens's special investigators, the Attorney General, and Northern Ireland's Director of Public Prosecutions. Morrison said this about Hutton's input: "And he was involved in the Brian Nelson affair. Just a week before Nelson's trial, which almost certainly would have exposed British collusion with loyalist death squads, Hutton and the trial judge, Basil Kelly, met the prime minister John Major." Nelson was offered a sample plea bargain of charges, which he would plead guilty to in return for a short sentence, and being set up in a new life. He, of course, agreed, and served only four and a half years in prison. Morrison ended up comparing Hutton to the judge in an episode of Yes, Minister who did not need to be leaned on to do what Jim Hacker wanted.

Having lifted the lid on the former Lord Chief Justice's role in covering up the British Army's assistance of loyalist death squads, then Morrison mentioned the killing by two Royal Marines of Feral Caraher, and the wounding of his brother Michael on December 30, 1990 when they were driving out of the car park of the Lite and Easy pub in Cullyhanna, South Armagh. The soldiers claimed that they had driven through a checkpoint, while witnesses claimed no such thing. In fact, the Cullyhanna Justice Group staged an open, on the site inquiry of the shooting which disproved what authorities were claiming - what forced them to try Marines Eldington and Callaghan in December 1994. Just before Christmas, they were acquitted of all charges, the trial judge, reminiscent of how Hutton behaved in the Kelly inquest, deciding that none of the witnesses, especially the ones for the prosecution, were to be relied upon.

Matters did end there, though, as the shootings of the Caraher brothers were so reminiscent of what happened to Seamus Grew and Roddy Carroll in South Armagh eight years before that Ken Loach made a film entitled Hidden Agenda. Seamus and later his brother Dessie were so wanted dead in revenge killings that they were cruelly achieved - the first after the Hyde Park bombings of the summer of 1982, and the latter after the PIRA went on the rampage over the murders at Gib in May 1988. Now it looked as if the Caraher brothers had been shot in reprisal for the killing of the Scottish Borderers. At least that was what Loach's movie was trying to convey.

And that idea was just what Peter Harclerode, former Irish Guards officer, and official dispenser of special forces' disinformation, was trying not to when he discussed Michael's capture, and imprisonment in 1999 for the murder of Lance Bombardier Stephen Restoric, the last British soldier killed in Ulster, now that it was okay to talk about SAS achievements in the war against terrorism. (See p. 176ff.) The only trouble with Harclerode's story is that he left out the incident - the wounding of Michael and the killing of his brother Feral - which made him a terrorist in the first place, though by this time London had compensed the Caraher family for his murder. Moreover, there were no allusions in Secret Soldiers to remind readers of the fate of Grew and Carroll.

Such allusions undoubtedly would rekindle interest in John Stalker's investigation into the so-called Shoot-to Kill murders in Northern Ireland during the fall of 1982. In Ulster, what was increasingly seen by Greater Manchester Police Force's Deputy Chief Constable as reckless killings by reinforced RUC E4A squads, reduced to dire expedients because reliable British services were unavailable because of the Falklands War - what London was obliged to cover up - turned out to be, it seems, terrible mistakes by the best forces, caused by faulty intelligence, especially from two informers, that Whitehall did everything possible, short of disclosing vital national security secrets, to rectify. Despite all the confusion, there was apparently never any Shoot-to-Kill policy by anyone.

According to Peter Taylor's latest book, Brits: The War against the IRA, and he should know because he has written a half-dozen on the subject, the RUC was prepared for any contingency with its equivalent of what Britain's 'Det' aka 14 Intelligence Company, and Special Air Services (SAS) supplied, what went into action when the IRA opened its terrorist campaign on the mainland, killing four Guardsmen of the Household Cavalry in Hyde Park, and seven bandsmen of the Royal Green Jackets in Regent's Park on July 20, 1982, with remote-control nail bombs, followed by a terror campaign by the IRA and the Irish National Liberation Army (INLA) in the then quiet province to see which organization could kill more people in its establishment. It was in this context that the RUC, with the help of the 'Det', swung into action, going after the INLA's Dominic 'Mad Dog' McGlinchey, the murderer of around 30 people, who had taken refuge in the Republic.

Thanks to a surveillance that the 'Det' had conducted on Seamus Grew, and to an informant, George Poyntz, that the RUC's Special Branch had in the Republic's Castleblaney where McGlinchey was hiding, Taylor continued (p. 243ff.), a 'Det' tail was put on the Austin Allegro Grew was driving, accompanied by Roddy Carroll, when it went across the border on December 12th to pick up McGlinchey for apparently another shoot-up of the province. When they arrived, however, McGlinchey 'went ape' because Grew was driving his own car, and, consequently, they were sent back to Armagh to get another. Unfortunately, the Headquarters Mobile Support Unit (HMSU), the RUC equivalent of SAS units, for some reason, did not register the 'Det' message that McGlinchey was not on board, and so when Grew stopped at the HMSU roadblock at Mullacreevie Park, SB officer Constable John Robinson calmly killed both unarmed men with his Smith and Wesson revolver as they started to get out of the yellow car. Special Branch then weaved a rigmarole of lies about the killings to protect Poyntz, and the sensitivity of the operation from any possible trial. "The involvement of the 'Det' and the fury of its operators," Taylor added, "was never revealed." (p. 246)

Then Taylor turned to the other killings Stalker had been asked to investigate in 1984 - the killing of unarmed Michael Tighe when he and Martin Cauley wandered into a Lurgan hayshed that the IRA had been storing explosives in, and a HMSU was conducting a surveillance of; and the shooting of unarmed Eugene Toman, Sean Burns, and Gervaise McKerr after they drove through another HMSU roadblock in a Ford Escort in Craigavon, and were mowed down in the subsequent high-speed chase. The operations had been the result of information from another SB informant, apparently David Burton aka Bertelstein, but who Taylor declined to identify for some unkown reason, perhaps to avoid trying to identify even more controversial ones. The mole had located the hayshed which an MI5 officer, and a 'Det' operator had bugged. Unfortunately, the IRA was able to remove the explosive without the authorities noticing, and it was used to blow up three RUC police officers at a Kinnego roundabout.

That night, the mole identified for his handlers Toman and Burns, "both IRA men 'on the run' " (p. 249), as responsible for the explosion. As a result, RUC forces mounted increasing challenges to them, one E4A officer even lighting one of their cigarettes when they were with their accomplice, McKerr. Little wonder that when the mole reported that they were planning to kill an off-duty member of the security forces, a HMSU disposed of them pronto. Of course, the shooting of Tighe was recorded, the HMSU claiming that a rifle had been cocked, and all were concerned about what was on the tapes, especially if repeated warnings had been given, and by whom before it took place.

Stalker was now completely absorbed in recovering the tapes, believing that he was involved in a possible murder inquiry. While he was not able to obtain them, Taylor explained, forcing him to make an interim report only to the RUC's Chief Constable Sir John Hermon until he did, Stalker was then removed from the inquiry for controversial, not conspiratorial, reasons - his association with Manchester businessman Kevin Taylor (no relation). His successor, though, Sir Colin Sampson, provided the dramatic denouement for the whole controversy, thanks to the assistance the West Yorkshire Police's Assistant Chief Constable Donald Shaw.

Not only did they determine that no warning had been given in the hayshed shooting but they recommended that police and MI5 officers be prosecuted for destroying a copy of the tape. A soldier in the 'Det's' Special Collation Team had made his own personal copy of Tighe's murder as a souvenir (p. 251). In doing so, Taylor forgot, however, the Panorama program he produced in August 1986, claiming that Stalker had rightfully been removed from the inquiry to maintain its purity because of his relation with Kevin Taylor, and another on the BBC five years later, contending that Sampson had also wanted the RUC police officers responsible for killing Tighe prosecuted for murder.

Taylor concluded that all the good work by Stalker and Sampson went for naught, though, as the Thatcher government decided not to, Attorney General Sir Patrick Mayhew explaining to the Commons in January 1988 that they were not 'in the public interest.' Mayhew later added for Taylor's benefit: "A lot of intelligence matters would have been brought out that would have been very deleterious to the intelligence operation that was essential in the circumstances of the time." (Quoted from pp. 252-3.

Taylor's account is highly unsatisfactory, by far the worst one yet. As New Labour is adopting the ways of Old Tories, the press is apparently adopting similar ways - repeating more and more dubious descriptions of controversial events in the hope of giving credibility to false explanations. Tony Geraghty's The Bullet Catchers, though written at the time, and basically about a related subject, had a caustic, though slightly inaccurate, account of the shootings, Stalker's removal, and Mayhew's justification of not prosecuting (pp. 383-4), adding that the Attorney General's decision was so controversial that he now required around-the-clock bodyguard protection, and concluding, along with the LSE's Professor Patrick McAuslan, that such use of the prerogative could be a 'license to kill' for officers of the security services, empowering them to kill even their own fellow citizens. (p. 400)

Even in The Irish War, what Geraghty wrote with the Secretary of the Defence, Press and Broadcasting Committee looking over his shoulder, these claims were essentially repeated (p. 111ff.), and when Geraghty illustrated its dustjacket with a photograph of Life Guardsman Captain Simon Hayward in full battle gear on the back cover, indicating in the text that he might now be known as Captain 'James Rennie', author of The Operators (pp. 141-2), the MOD Police conducted a surveillance of his Herefordshire home, raided it for evidence, and undertook a criminal prosecution of him for violating the Official Secrets Act. Labour Attorney General Lord Williams only dropped prosecution when the book was reprinted in paperback without Hayward's photo on the back cover, and Duncan Campbell supplied a long brief about there having been no disclosure of Artificial Intelligence secrets on the inside.

Mark Urban only added to the controversy when he wrote Big Boys Rules, what induced the D-Notice Secretary to take a much more active role in protecting state secrets. During Urban's discussion of the six killings in which he even expressed uncertainty about what units had actually done them (p. 151), he noted the differences between Taylor and Stalker about his inquiry's jurisdiction, even citing the reporter's Stalker: The Search for the Truth which claimed that he was only to investigate the RUC cover ups. While Urban thought that there had been a conspiracy to squelch Stalker's investigation, it had failed, he concluded falsely, thanks to Taylor's BBC program, because Sampson had recommended prosecuting the hayshed shooting as a conspiracy to murder.

Urban added that the SAS committed its own Shoot-to-Kill murders when it disposed of Francis Bradley on February 18, 1986 (pp. 214-5), and Seamus McElwaine two months later, thanks to similar faulty handling of dubious intelligence. In fact, Shoot-to-Kill murders became so out-of-control that the 'Det' allowed the East Tyrone IRA to kill the UDR's William Graham on April 25, 1987, thanks to what "a member of the security forces in a position to know" (p. 225), who might have been disposed of by the IRA himself because of what MI5's Michael Bettaney had told it about security operations in Northern Ireland while on remand at Brixton for spying for the Soviets (p. 99), claimed about the intelligence officers responsible. Urban explained: "...it was following the events of 25 April, an intelligence expert says, that security chiefs decided to allow the terrorists' plan to attack Loughgall police station to run." (p. 226)

Instead of trying to sort out this confused mess, Taylor has opted to smother the whole controversy, dealing in reverse order with the six 1982 killings, inventing the 'Det's' role in them, overlooking ad hoc substitutes for it, ignoring his own role in the whole process, especially not backing off from his self-serving justification for Stalker's removal, failing to determine what intelligence matters and operation Mayhew was referring to that justified no criminal prosecutions, and the like. Actually, the Shoot-to-Kill controversy was sparked by Downing Street's reaction to the July 20, 1982 killings in London, setting off an emergency in South Armagh in which a reinforced RUC SB carried out revenge murders so over-the-top that Stalker had to be appointed to investigate them, one of which the European Court of Human Rights has recently judged a violation of his civil rights, awarding his widow, Eleanor McKerr, £10,000 in damages.

Stalker's inquiry was, unfortunately, overtaken by more pressing intelligence matters, especially an operation involving his leading suspect, causing its stoppage, and then Stalker's suspension on the grounds that he was involved with him in drug running. Once Stalker was out of the way, the Crown resolved the difficulties his chief suspect had been causing over the operation's fallout as if it were an absolute state. In the process, it apparently aided and abetted a drugs conspiracy it had arranged with its most important PIRA informant to imprison falsely its agent, and when he threatened to expose the whole operation during the appeal of his conviction, it conspired to murder a taxi-driver in Ulster to keep either its agent or an IRA informant from blowing it sky high.

In September 1989, when Simon Hayward, a former Captain in the Household Cavalry who had had to resign from the Army in November 1988 after he had been convicted of importing 50.5 kilos of cannabis into Sweden in March 1987, was released from Malmo prison after serving half his sentence, his autobiography, Under Fire: My Own Story, was published, indicating that he might well be the leading suspect Stalker was looking for. Hayward was so bitter about how British officials had betrayed him after all his undercover work in Northern Ireland that he threatened to tell all. Increasingly convinced that he had been set up in Sweden, thanks to activities by his commanding officer Colonel James Emson, colleague Major Simon Falkner, the National Drugs Intelligence Unit's Detective Sergeant Brian Moore and Detective David Morgan, and others, he discussed his experience growing up, in the Army, serving in Northern Ireland, on "holiday" on Ibiza in the Balearic Islands, and in trouble in Sweden in such revealing ways, and threatening to tell more, that he had authorities pulling out all the stops to muzzle him.

About his education, Hayward could only discuss in considerable detail his mock assassination attempt of Wellington College's Headboy with an air gun, a novice attempt which went wrong because of faulty intelligence. Then he described how he lost the middle joints of his middle and ring fingers on his right hand because of an accident while on patrol in Cyprus in August 1976, what enabled me to identify him on the back of the dustcover of Geraghty's The Irish War. Thanks to quick surgery, he added, they were just about as good as new.

About his two tours of duty in the province, Hayward wrote: "The first time was not until 1982 when I was attached to the Coldstream Guards as a Company Operations Officer during a four month emergency tour of South Armagh." (p. 40). Of course, the road from Armagh to Castleblayney passes through the center of South Armagh, and Craigavon and Lurgan are in the county's northeastern corner. The need of Hayward's presence cast the greatest doubt on Taylor's claim that police and security forces, especially the 'Det's, were properly manned for the task at hand, what kicked off with out-of-uniform men trying to kill Grew at his house in Armagh on September 22, 1982, and similar personnel succeeding in a drive-by shooting on its streets of ex-internee Peter Corrigan a month later, incidents which somehow escaped Taylor's notice. Hayward added that his second tour for two years commenced in June 1985 at Headquarters Northern Ireland in Lisburn, just when IRA assaults on undermanned police stations in rural Tyrone were increasing in number.

If this wasn't revealing enough, Hayward discussed his alleged holiday in Ibiza with his brother, Christopher, in February 1987, and its consequences in Sweden with reckless abandon. Since he was required to bring along £7,000 in cash, and a night sight, his planned cruise on Chris's catamaran, True Love, into the Mediterranean, especially since he did not invite his girlfriend along, seemed like a mission to catch the IRA's DOOK aka Duke shipping Libyan arms to the terrorists, what was stopped by his brother somehow not making necessary repairs to the boat at Gibraltar, and DOOK forcing Chris to make his brother drive his Jaguar to Sweden, ostensibly for sale, but actually loaded with cannabis to secure his incarceration. (The catamaran was previously owned by Kevin Taylor, leading Peter Taylor to report on the August 1986 Panorama program that he had paid Stalker's way to visit it in America five years before, which was not true, but was the pretext used for his removal, and then had sold it to a man in Spain who allegedly used it to transport cannabis.)

Hayward, thanks to private detective Richard New's inquiries on the island after his conviction in Stockholm, discussed DOOK's operations, and holdings in such detail that he ended up sounding like 'Steak Knife', what had caused the Field Research Unit's infamous Brian Nelson to hurriedly have the UFF target taxi-driver Francisco Notarantorio instead when he heard that the Loyalists were planning to kill its priceless asset for fear that he was going out of control. When Chris's Jaguar was stolen so that it could be loaded with hidden cannabis for Simon's trip, he discussed a person by the name of Brian, with a London accent, helping get him dead drunk, making it seem as if it were more of Nelson's handiwork.

Once in Sweden, Hayward made it very clear that he was a military intelligence operator whose superiors were out to get him for some unexplained reason. When the Swedish drugs police outside Linkoping closed in on the Jaguar, as Hayward tried to follow DOOK-connected Forbes Mitchell's car, he immediately remembered similar, upsetting experience with the IRA in Ulster, and what countermeasures he had been taught to take. When the police forced him off the road after an intersection, he recalled the trouble he had had in the E4A car following Toman, McKerr, and Burns: "Bloody hell! The car behind me had also turned but in the process had almost overshot, sliding all over the place." (p. 14) Instead of the IRA taking its revenge, though, the Swedish police arrested him for smuggling drugs, obviously acting upon a British tipoff.

While Hayward thought that he could easily make his escape with his experience, and acquaintance with the country, when he was moved towards Stockholm, he was sure he could beat the charge, and save his new intelligence appointment in Whitehall. His confidence was totally shaken, though, by an unexpected visit by Colonel Emson to question him about the validity of the charge, Major Falkner trying to explain away as innocent his dealings with another Brian, drug dealer Walsh, and the NDIU's officers assuring him that they would obtain his conviction as they went about securing Mitchell's. Falkner was apparently the Major in Germany who Stalker had been looking for because he either had the second tape of the hayshed shooting or had heard it. Little wonder that when Hayward was convicted, he saw it as the culmination of Stalker's pursuit of him, claiming, with apparently artistic license, that he had seen an elderly man outside the Uppsala Police Station on televsion afterwards: "He was obviously a senior police officer. I caught my own name being mentioned and then the letters 'SAS' several times." (p. 276)

When Hayward's appeal was being heard, he was most anxious to force Mitchell and DOOK to testify as their collaboration with the NDIU's officers and Swedish police to secure the former's lighter sentence had more than made up for British efforts in government, especially MP John Gorst's for Downing Street, the police, and media to make sure that he had none at all. DOOK continued to tell his lawyer, Dutchman H. K. ter Brake, and Simon's mother that he was guilty. DOOK, however, refused to appear at the appeal, and ter Brake refused to identify him, explaining on Oct. 7th that he was afraid to do so for fear that the British Army would kill him. Then the court recessed, and two nights later Notarantorio was murdered because he threatened to expose the IRA's 'Steak Knife' as the FRU's mole. When the court resumed, ter Brake introduced a letter, dated Oct. 11th, from DOOK's apparent handler, Heather Weissand, claiming that Hayward was guilty, taking all the fight out of his appeal. Weissand is apparently the FRU's 'Mags', Captain 'M' who also handled Nelson, and who MI6's renegade officer Richard Tomlinson has described as 'the troll bitch from Hell'. Hayward had been persuaded that somehow the Army would take care of him too.

And it did, though it took a long time in coming. Of course, Hayward had to serve half of his sentence, Britsh officials recommending that he only serve a minimum one. Just before it was completed, 'Mags' led a squad which assassinated the UVF's Brian Robinson who knew all about FRU's operations, especially the killing of solicitor Pat Finucane who wanted to get to the bottom of the murders of McKerr, Toman and Burns. Once released, Hayward threatened to tell more on Terry Wogan's Show, but he was prevented from appearing. Instead, Hayward took the advice of The Times reviewer of his autobiography, writing its sequel which took back all the sensitive information that he had supplied Urban as his military intelligence expert for Big Boys' Rules.

As Captain James Rennie, the name he assumed upon entering the 'Det' in 1984, but unconvincingly claimed was actually his real one, he wrote The Operators: On the streets with Britain's Most Secret Service. Of course, Hayward tipped his hand about his authorship by discussing understandably the trouble he had with his right hand by his mentioning his "cackhandedness" (p. 90), something he claimed he developed on the spur of the moment by switching from his natural left hand to his right (pp. 105-6), something one without an impaired right hand would never even attempt.

In discussiong operations, he created a largely fictional description of his tenure as the South Detachment's Ops Officer. The shootings of Bradley and McElwaine, what he was most involved in, passed without notice. Instead of Graham having been deliberately allowed to be killed during his absence in Sweden, the 'Det' protected him from the East Tyrone killers (pp. 216-9), Graham's actual murder passing without comment too. Of course, his discussions of the Loughgall and Gib culls were understandable most abbreviated, and unbelievable because he was locked up in Sweden at the time.

The book, though, had the desired effect. Britsh authorities made Hayward's assumed identity a reality, and gave Rennie apparently an official position befitting his experience, and sacrifices. One can only wonder why the British government went to such trouble to see that Hayward was locked up falsely in Sweden, only to go to ridiculous lengths afterwards to undo. Moreover, the operation that Mayhew was assuming such difficulty to protect must have been a whopper. Little wonder London wants no inquiries - not even a truth and reconciliation commission - into all these operations.

The public has dealt Prime Minister Tony Blair an electoral slap in the face with results from local elections showing his Labour Party losing support across the country.

Ministers said his support for war in Iraq, and its violent aftermath, had taken a toll, though early returns left unclear whether it would be just a set-back or a drubbing.

Thursday's polls for local government, the European Parliament and London's mayor are the biggest public test for the government outside a general election.

Results for the London and European votes will not land until late Friday and Sunday respectively, but early returns from local council seats in play showed Labour shedding support.

Some 6,000 seats on 166 councils in England and Wales were up for grabs -- about a quarter of the total. Analysts said a net loss of 400 seats or more would amount to a serious reverse for Blair.

With 45 councils having reported, Labour had lost a net 97 seats compared with similar local polls last year.

The BBC projected Labour's share of the vote at just 26 percent, 10 points behind the Conservatives, and even below third party Liberal Democrats.

Local elections are staggered over a four-year cycle.

"Labour is down sharply, the Conservatives are up less sharply," Anthony King, professor of government at Essex University, told BBC television.

Elite Bankers Pulling Plug On US Economy & Currency

I have warned for a long time that the Federal Reserve is planning to destroy the U.S. economy by: printing the U.S. dollar in exponentially riskier quantities until it blows off the charts and crashes, and by easing credit and rates until the average individual and corporate debt loads are so enormous that the resulting massive distortions in the economy suddenly bring on an economic heart attack, leaving no possibility of a short or even medium-term recovery. That day is here!

There is nothing more important in your life right now than the exceedingly dire economic crisis unfolding as I write, and the state of your soul!

In other words, if your spiritual house is not in order, the building financial collapse will be so horrible that you will not be able to emotionally or mentally endure it, and I am addressing the healthy and strong here.

The Illuminati corporations such as Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Farmer Mac, FHA, GM, Ford, and GE (which are actually banks), worked hand-in-hand with the Bank Cartel on this sickening, twisted game, switching from pumping credit cards and cars (which have gone to zero percent financing 12 months ago) to a last-ditch horrendous push into mortgage lending. This insane lending will destroy the lending institutions themselves, as Ford and GM are well aware, but the elite do not care, as after this collapse, there will only be one corporation in the world, and they are all pulling together to put everyone as deep into debt as possible, to assure than no American state or corporation or region will survive when the debt mountain suffocates all life. This is why so many CEOs are bailing out with insane profits from questionable practices which would normally ruin their career for life, as they have raped their corporation (the latest is Grasso of the New York Stock Exchange); but they know the game is over, and it is now or never - this is their last chance to make millions and move to an island, for insiders are able to see that the economy is literally going to hell, and it will not climb out of hell in their lifetimes. (Some of these characters believe they have a room reserved underground to protect them from what is coming. Some are correct in thinking this, some are not. But many of those underground cities will be death traps, so you had better think twice before paying millions for your reservation. There are earth changes coming that will fundamentally rearrange the crust of the earth, most likely including your future bedroom.)

The U.S. growth rate (GDP) in quarter 3 will probably be artificially doubled, as is the U.S. government custom of late, but it will be such a ridiculously high number, that it should be obvious to all that the massive inflation from the Federal Reserve (and mortgage friends) has led to a final blowoff from the massive liquidity and credit push over the past 9 months. But the housing market is so overpriced and overbought that mortgages are plunging despite the cartel's best effort to postpone the long-planned crash with dangerously wild lending (why they are postponing is not yet clear to me, everything appears ready).

The two great props of the deathly-sick US economy - housing and cars - are gone forever, and can no longer be used to cover up the rapidly worsening fundamentals. Indeed, many are recognizing that these two alone - especially artificially low mortgage rates - have postponed a deep crash which should have occurred 2 or 3 years ago. Sadly, this extension has not been helpful, but has served a very useful purpose for the money elite, namely, greatly deepening private and corporate debt loads, exploding red ink in state and local budgets to dangerous levels, emptying pensions, creating a fatally large and exploding US budget and trade deficit, moving millions of jobs thousands of miles away, and expanding the dollar and derivatives mountain to ensure a global panic. This has been carefully coordinated worldwide from the headquarters of all world central banks, in Basel, Switzerland.

You just don't have a clue how dead serious this news is!! My guess (and experience) is that less than 1 person in 100,000 understands how horrible and total the economic devastation will be in America. Personally, I have met only one person (a broker in Los Angeles) who understood what was coming. I met him in 1999, shortly before Sir Templeton said to get out of stocks. I considered this broker in LA to be a maverick, but expected more and more people to see the danger as the months went by. I was wrong. Literally, no one gets it. People all around me and around the world are saying the bottom has been reached, that the light at the end of the tunnel is growing. They live like everything is normal, going to the opera and movies, vacationing like life is normal, as if there was a future of freedom and opportunity awaiting us in the years ahead, as in the past.

But someone who understands that life on this earth as we know it will end, lives a radically different lifestyle. When you see what is coming, and more importantly, why, and from whom, then movies, weddings, opera and building for the future suddenly lose all value. I recently wondered aloud to my wife at the dinner table, "how can the world laugh so heartily, when their lives are so empty and lonely, and when such tragedy and horror approaches the earth?" Her reply was classic. "I have always wondered the same thing." I have married well.

If the Bankers are coordinating the financial destruction of the US, it follows that a time will one day arrive when they are suddenly given a secret signal to coordinate a "take down" of the U.S., after debt loads and dollar weakness is established. That time has arrived.

911 : The Cleveland Airport Mystery

Inmidst the chaos breaking out in the hours after the WTC and Pentagon attacks, between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m an airplane made an emergency landing at Cleveland Hopkins Airport . Rumours were going around that it was hijacked or had a bomb on board. The FBI evacuated the plane and searched it with bomb-sniffing dogs after the passengers had left. It turned out to be false alarm. The plane - Delta flight1989 - was not hijacked, and there was no bomb.

However, a closer examination reveals a bunch of conflicting statements concerning Delta 1989. Neither the moment of landing, nor the number of the passengers, nor the location of the grounded plane is clear. For every aspect of the incident there are two different versions. Not one or three or four versions, but two.

This article will prove that not one, but two planes made an emergency landing in Cleveland - in close succession. The proof is based on local newspaper and radio reports from September 11th and 12th (mainly from the Akron Beacon Journal and the Cleveland Plain Dealer), statements of eyewitnesses and internet postings in the morning of 9/11 (people were listening to the radio and immediately submitted the breaking news to the net). One of the flights was indeed Delta 1989. We don't know the identity of the other one, so we call it "Flight X"...

We start with a short summary of the events in Cleveland. At 10 a.m., the airport was evacuated. Without doubt, this had to do with the rumours that a hijacked plane was going to land. The passengers had to leave the airport but were not allowed to take their car. They had to walk or got a ride at the highway. Busses were not allowed to leave the airport. People around the airport were told to go home. It was a very tense situation. These facts are undisputed.

Cleveland Mayor Michael White held a televised news conference at 11 a.m., after the emergency landing. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, he said there was an unconfirmed report that the plane might have been hijacked or was carrying a bomb. But in the middle of the news conference, he reported that it had not been hijacked, and later in the day he said no bomb had been found. This was not the only detail that changed in the course of the day. In the morning, White said that air controllers could hear screaming on the plane. In the afternoon, he didn't mention the screams anymore.

LBJ, Israel & the USS Liberty Massacre

"The White House knew within minutes of the USS Liberty attack, that the perpetrator was really Israel. On two separate occasions, the White House recalled aircraft rescue missions for the Liberty. On the last attempt, LBJ told Rear-Admiral Lawrence Geis of the Sixth Fleet, “I WILL NOT EMBARRASS OUR ALLY.” The Liberty was then left “dead in the water,” without any assistance for over 16 hours."

On June 8, 1967, the Israelis attacked the USS Liberty, in international waters, 13 miles off the coast of the Sinai Peninsula, and tried to sink it, and kill all 294 American on board the spy ship (“Assault on the Liberty,” James M. Ennes, Jr. and James Bamford’s “Body of Secrets.”) The Israelis then falsely claimed it was just a case of “mistaken identity.”

However, according to Peter Hounam, the author of the expose’, “Operation Cyanide,” the murderous Israeli attack was a set up to blame the Egyptians and bring the U.S. into the 1967 war on their side. The Liberty was a “sitting duck” for the Israeli jet planes’ missiles and rockets and their torpedo boats. The attack lasted at least 75 minutes, killing 34 brave Americans and wounding 172 others. Liberty survivor, Petty Officer Ernie Gallo, said, “I mean for a group of people, who are suppose to be the children of God, (the Israelis), they didn’t show any mercy for us.”

Both Captain Ward Boston, an ex-Navy attorney, who participated in a Court of Inquiry, with respect to the Liberty, and Admiral Thomas Moorer, a former Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chief of Staff, (who recently died), believe that President Lyndon Baynes Johnson ordered a massive “cover-up” after the attack by the Israelis (10/23/03, CBSNews.com.)
On first hearing of the Liberty attack by allegedly “unidentified aircraft,” the U.S. launched planes from the Sixth Fleet carriers, then located in the Mediterranean, off Crete, armed with nuclear weapons. They were headed for Cairo to retaliate. Only minutes before reaching their target, they were recalled. Why? The Israelis had failed to sink the Liberty! The Zionist predators had mistakenly believed U.S. planes were also on their way to rescue the Liberty, so they were forced to stop their assault. Only then, did they admit to the U.S., that they were the culprits.

At pp. 267-268, Hounam said, “Sinking the Liberty and blaming Egypt and the Soviets would have freed Johnson’s hand to do almost anything - even to drop an atomic bomb on Cairo. Trouble only arose when the Israel operation failed - and the damned ship stayed afloat.”

Hounam revealed that within LBJ’s hawkish administration, there was shadowy clique that met under the rubric of the “303 Committee.” Richard Helms, the late CIA Director, said that entity was, “A device for examining covert operations of any kind and making a judgment on behalf of the President, so he wouldn’t be nailed with the thing, if it failed.”

Out of the “303 Committee,” came a project labeled, “Frontlet 615,” which was furthered defined as, “A secret political agreement in 1966 by which Israel and the U.S. had vowed to destroy (Egypt’s Gamal Abdel) Nasser.” The military name for the operation was, “Operation Cyanide.” The U.S. also had a draconian plan, entitled, “Condition November,” a strategy for a pre-emptive nuclear strike against the Soviet Union. All of the above ended up being interwoven into the tragic saga of the Liberty.

LBJ was an extremely ambitious man, who was, in 1967, seeking reelection. The Vietnam War was going badly for him and his popularity was plummeting. He had surrounded himself with Zionist zealots, like the late Walter Rostow, his Special Assistant for National Security Affairs.

Why is it that every mainstream book you read, every documentary you see, talks about how Hitler was this evil genius who did all this bad shit on his own. Well, that's a lie just like everything else you learned in History! Hitler was brought to power in the same way and by the same sort of people as Bush has been! It is going to happen again, the military-industrial complex Eisenhower warned us about almost has complete control of the US government as it did with the German. Unless something is done to stop it a lot of people will die in the process... Ever wondered what it would have been like if Hitler had had nukes? Well, little lamb, you're about to find out - but only when you get to the slaughterhouse in the final few moments before complete vapourisation!

In the United States, World War II is generally known as "the good war." In contrast to some of America's admittedly bad wars, such as the near-genocidal Indian Wars and the vicious conflict in Vietnam, World War II is widely celebrated as a "crusade" in which the US fought unreservedly on the side of democracy, freedom, and justice against dictatorship. No wonder President George W. Bush likes to compare his ongoing "war against terrorism" with World War II, suggesting that America is once again involved on the right side in an apocalyptic conflict between good and evil. Wars, however, are never quite as black-and-white as Mr. Bush would have us believe, and this also applies to World War II. America certainly deserves credit for its important contribution to the hard-fought victory that was ultimately achieved by the Allies. But the role of corporate America in the war is hardly synthesized by President Roosevelt's claim that the US was the "arsenal of democracy." When Americans landed in Normandy in June 1944 and captured their first German trucks, they discovered that these vehicles were powered by engines produced by American firms such as Ford and General Motors. 1 Corporate America, it turned out, had also been serving as the arsenal of Nazism.

Mussolini enjoyed a great deal of admiration in corporate America from the moment he came to power in a coup that was hailed stateside as "a fine young revolution." 2 Hitler, on the other hand, sent mixed signals. Like their German counterparts, American businessmen long worried about the intentions and the methods of this plebeian upstart, whose ideology was called National Socialism, whose party identified itself as a workers' party, and who spoke ominously of bringing about revolutionary change. 3 Some high-profile leaders of corporate America, however, such as Henry Ford liked and admired the Führer at an early stage. 4 Other precocious Hitler-admirers were press lord Randolph Hearst and Irénée Du Pont, head of the Du Pont trust, who according to Charles Higham, had already "keenly followed the career of the future Führer in the 1920s" and supported him financially. 5 Eventually, most American captains of industry learned to love the Führer.

It is often hinted that fascination with Hitler was a matter of personalities, a matter of psychology. Authoritarian personalities supposedly could not help but like and admire a man who preached the virtues of the "leadership principle" and practised what he preached first in his party and then in Germany as a whole. Although he cites other factors as well, it is essentially in such terms that Edwin Black, author of the otherwise excellent book IBM and the Holocaust, explains the case of IBM chairman Thomas J. Watson, who met Hitler on a number of occasions in the 1930s and became fascinated with Germany's authoritarian new ruler. But it is in the realm of political economy, not psychology, that one can most profitably understand why corporate America embraced Hitler.

In the 1920s many big American corporations enjoyed sizeable investments in Germany. IBM established a German subsidiary, Dehomag, before World War I; in the 1920s General Motors took over Germany's largest car manufacturer, Adam Opel AG; and Ford founded a branch plant, later known as the Ford-Werke, in Cologne. Other US firms contracted strategic partnerships with German companies. Standard Oil of New Jersey — today's Exxon — developed intimate links with the German trust IG Farben. By the early 1930s, an élite of about twenty of the largest American corporations had a German connection including Du Pont, Union Carbide, Westinghouse, General Electric, Gilette, Goodrich, Singer, Eastman Kodak, Coca-Cola, IBM, and ITT. Finally, many American law firms, investment companies, and banks were deeply involved in America's investment offensive in Germany, among them the renowned Wall Street law firm Sullivan & Cromwell, and the banks J. P. Morgan and Dillon, Read and Company, as well as the Union Bank of New York, owned by Brown Brothers & Harriman. The Union Bank was intimately linked with the financial and industrial empire of German steel magnate Thyssen, whose financial support enabled Hitler to come to power. This bank was managed by Prescott Bush, grandfather of George W. Bush. Prescott Bush was allegedly also an eager supporter of Hitler, funnelled money to him via Thyssen, and in return made considerable profits by doing business with Nazi Germany; with the profits he launched his son, the later president, in the oil business. 6

American overseas ventures fared poorly in the early 1930s, as the Great Depression hit Germany particularly hard. Production and profits dropped precipitously, the political situation was extremely unstable, there were constant strikes and street battles between Nazis and Communists, and many feared that the country was ripe for a "red" revolution like the one that had brought the Bolsheviks to power in Russia in 1917. However, backed by the power and money of German industrialists and bankers such as Thyssen, Krupp, and Schacht, Hitler came to power in January 1933, and not only the political but also the socio-economic situation changed drastically. Soon the German subsidiaries of American corporations were profitable again. Why?

After Hitler came to power American business leaders with assets in Germany found to their immense satisfaction that his so-called revolution respected the socio-economic status quo. The Führer's Teutonic brand of fascism, like every other variety of fascism, was reactionary in nature, and extremely useful for capitalists' purposes. Brought to power by Germany's leading businessmen and bankers, Hitler served the interests of his "enablers." His first major initiative was to dissolve the labour unions and to throw the Communists, and many militant Socialists, into prisons and the first concentration camps, which were specifically set up to accommodate the overabundance of left-wing political prisoners. This ruthless measure not only removed the threat of revolutionary change — embodied by Germany's Communists — but also emasculated the German working class and transformed it into a powerless "mass of followers" (Gefolgschaft), to use Nazi terminology, which was unconditionally put at the disposal of their employers, the Thyssens and Krupps.

Most, if not all firms in Germany, including American branch plants, eagerly took advantage of this situation and cut labour costs drastically. The Ford-Werke, for example, reduced labour costs from fifteen per cent of business volume in 1933 to only eleven per cent in 1938. (Research Findings, 135–6) Coca-Cola's bottling plant in Essen increased its profitability considerably because, in Hitler's state, workers "were little more than serfs forbidden not only to strike, but to change jobs," driven "to work harder [and] faster" while their wages "were deliberately set quite low." 7 In Nazi Germany, real wages indeed declined rapidly, while profits increased correspondingly, but there were no labour problems worth mentioning, for any attempt to organize a strike immediately triggered an armed response by the Gestapo, resulting in arrests and dismissals. This was the case in GM's Opel factory in Rüsselsheim in June 1936. (Billstein et al., 25) As the Thuringian teacher and anti-fascist resistance member Otto Jenssen wrote after the war, Germany's corporate leaders were happy "that fear for the concentration camp made the German workers as meek as lapdogs." 8 The owners and managers of American corporations with investments in Germany were no less enchanted, and if they openly expressed their admiration or Hitler — as did the chairman of General Motors, William Knudsen, and ITT-boss Sosthenes Behn — it was undoubtedly because he had resolved Germany's social problems in a manner that benefited their interests. 9

Bilderberg List Exposed

As usual we find out about it after the fact. Look people, whether you think I'm full of shit or not you cannot deny that no greater evidence of a dastardly conspiracy exists than these evil and heinous Bilderberg meetings. As a UK tax payer I have serious objections to any member of the Britsh political or business establishment attending, they are anathema to democracy and the principles upon which our government is based! Now I know that my objections don't mean jack-shit at the end of the day, I've written to my MP and anyone else I could think of, all to no avail. Now if there is not some seriously bad shit going on then why the hell can't we THE PEOPLE know about what they're saying. Their discussions affect all of us and as long as these meetings take place then I will continue to believe that they are up to no good!

The 52nd secretive Bilderberg Meeting being held in Stresa, Italy, 3-6 June 2004, received a blow as the Bilderberg.Org website published a leaked list of participants for the first time ahead of the conference.

The Conference will deal mainly with European American relations and in this context US Politics, Iraq, The Middle East., European Geopolitics, NATO, China, Economoic Problems and Energy, according to official information on the Bilderberg society.

"This is the first year that I have been able to publish the official agenda and list of participants before the end of the conference - so read, analyse and enjoy. Please send me any information on the participants - such as past or present jobs - that the Bilderberg Secretariat have overlooked asap and I will publish them", Mr Gosling says.

His website which has been run for several years to highlight the Bilderberg group and its agenda as well as to facilitate protestors to know the venues for the meetings which are held under strict security and was not publicly known until early last month.
